Ans 2 -  There would be no change in the part of the leaf as it does not contain any starch due to lack of chlorophyll that supports photosynthesis by trapping sunlight that is essential for photosynthesis that is necessary for the creation of starch in a leaf.

Ans 2 - When we put some brown drops of Iodine on the area of the leaf which was covered with the black paper, the Brown drop of Iodine does not change its color to black or dark blue. The covered area did not received sunlight. Hence, no starch was available.

Answer 1- The part of the leaf which is covered with black paper will not get sunlight, hence it will not remain green in color. The part of the leaf which is not covered with the black paper will get sunlight so the part will remain green in color.

Ans 1 : The area of the leaf that is green, shows the presence of starch as there is chlorophyll that is required for photosynthesis to trap sunlight in order to make starch.

Q2. What will you observe if you put a drop of iodine on the area of the leaf covered with the black paper ?  Support your answer with a reason.

Ans 2 : The leaf covered with black paper does not change the colour of iodine as it does not contain starch as it cannot prepare food in the absence of sunlight.
