The advice i would give Omari's parents is to try to understand what Omari is actually saying and trying to get across to them. Instead of telling him straight up what he did was wrong talk to him get deeper into the reason why he did what he did. The advice I would give to Omari is to not run away from his problems and to just face them head on. Running away from your problems will only make it worse for you, it also won't give you the chance to fight for what you did and let others know your point of view.

It showed real life characteristics about what it is to be a black male in a white prestigious school and in which ways it can affect you for better or for worse. But it also goes into the depth about what it is to be a black women in today's society and trying to a black men in a world where our color is seen as a weapon.

But it still wasn't right for him because he soon faces a problem with a teacher who he feels like is targeting him during class which leads to Omari getting physical with the teacher.
