Her unchanged personality makes her a stock character. Channary is seen as a manipulative, cold and cruel queen who could care less about her duties as the queen as long as she gets what she wants when she wants. She treats her subjects poorly as well as her sister until she later dies from contracting a respiratory illness. The cultural work that Channary is doing in the fairytale genre is quite disturbing. To audience members, she represents the difficult sibling that one might have to deal with and is overall, a bad influence to young readers. She does bring the fairytale genre to life in a way that she is always going to be that mean, snotty sister who treats everyone horribly and that would never change. She and Levana also support the culture of fairytale genres with absent parents, leaving them to grow up on their own without guidance and enormous pressure.
