German shepherds are very energetic dog breeds at a younger age needing about four hours of exercise per day but tend to grow more lazy as time progresses and can be fun to play with children and the whole family.

Due to this size they can sometimes overwhelm small children and other smaller family pets when playing around.

When left alone they may tend to bark or be destructive by digging holes in carpet, tearing up furniture.
