1. Get materials: 1 empty jar (controlled variable), 20 non-germinating seeds, 20 germinating seeds (independent variable), and carbon dioxide sensor to measure the amount of CO2 (dependent variable).
2. Use the carbon dioxide sensor to measure carbon dioxide in the empty jar. Let it measure this for 5 minutes.
3. Next, do the same thing, except fill the jar with the non -germinating seeds, and again let it do this for 5 minutes.
4. Now repeat once more with the germinating seeds, and make sure they are just barely submerged in water. Let measure for 5 minutes.

However when we put the seeds in the water . It took the seeds out of their dormant stage and allowed them to use the oxygen in the water and produced carbon dioxide.

The germinating seeds had the most change in carbon dioxide than all of the other experiments. It was just how we predicted with which one was going to have the most CO2 in the end of the experiment. The flaws that we had would be that we had a faulty sensor and had used up too much time for the control run.
