Michelangelo was influenced by Humanism as shown throughout his pieces of artwork. Artists looked to the classical works of art from Rome and Greece for models like humanist writers would with literature.A lot of artist during the renaissance were influenced by humanism and went on to create more realistic depictions of people to embrace them. Artists were inspired by the beauty and dignity of the human body. Michelangelo was one artist who did this. In michelangelo's sculpture of David he depicts david as a realistic person which is due to influence from humanism.

Humanism Vs. A Movement

Humanism during the Renaissance is different from any contemporary cultural movement. A contemporary cultural movement is more of a phase or period of time where something in art or literature is specifically popular. Humanism is a way of thinking that is influenced by Greek and Roman culture. Humanism also ends up having its own influence on things like art and literature during the renaissance. The major difference is though that influences of a movement are not always used for forever but influences of humanism like realistic art is still used today frequently.
