I thought the hypothetical sister of Shakespeare was used as an interesting and powerful point to describe women. Judith ultimately kills herself; I think Woolf was trying to make a powerful statement about the suffrage of women. I think tying it to Shakespeare was something unique.

why common reading @ LMC? what is your take?

I really do wonder why LMC picked this book as the common reading. It is not a book anyone (at least I think) would enjoy picking up and reading for leisure. It is also "old" and hard to understand, so why read something that is difficult to comprehend and why assign it? I feel like LMC assigned this text to teach about feminism and give more insight of writing for a women in the 1900s.
