I am a facilitator for your seminar

and I discovered VT earlier this year

when Keith suggested it as tool for

our intros in 5131. I love it because

it's so personalized and I can see and hear everyone's images and comments. I think webcams are great for commenting as I feel the connection with the person - be it student or instructor- is somehow more "real" although I don't like to have to look "presentable"...so voice is great too! And VT also lets you doodle though I wish it had more capablilities in that area.

I'm a participant in this program. I've only seen samples of VT used in colleagues' classes, but I'd like to use this tool in my class (f2f or online). I feel fine about presenting myself online, though more so with audio and text/photos, rather than video. I'm looking forward to this seminar! Here's a photo of my recent trip to Korea.

I'm also a participant in this seminar. I've never used VT before but have seen it used in classrooms. I feel very comfortable presenting online, using both audio and video (I just have to be very aware of how long the presentation goes as I do not have a great quantity of bandwidth up in the North). I haven't used Voicethread. I am not totally comfortable

listening to my own voice. Not sure where my comfort level lies. This is a

picture of me in the Orinoco Delta, Venezuela.

I am teaching Tuesday evening and will not be able to participate in that

days online session. Sorry.

I'm Keith. I've used VoiceThread a few times over the years and I've consulted on its use for a few courses at UVic. A few instructors here use it quite a bit. I'm fairly comfortable presenting online in any format. While just audio might seem less invasive, with video people can see that I'm thinking about my response and not just ignoring them. I've been using Ellumiante and BB Collaborate (the new re-branding now that Blackboard has bought it out) frequently since around 2005/06. I even have the app on my iPod.
