Made from Port Fairy bluestone, it is rising out of the ground outside the state library. It was unveiled in 1993 by Dutch artist Petrus Spronk.
I like this sculpture because it looks beautiful and it sink in the gourd, make me guess why it is not a complete library. I think the artist think library is a good place for people to get information and to be knowledgeable. the sinking means there is too many books in the library so it is too heavy.  I like it because it looks very cool I really like the design of tie a knot on the muzzle of the gun, make people want to think the meaning behind i. Using our hand as the structure we made a stablie shape from clay. Making sure it stood up and did not fall over. We then used wire as the bone structure over the top.

The process:  first we got a clay, and we use our hand to make it soft and make a ball shape, then squish it down a little bit  and make a shape that matches your palm. second we make our middle finger because it is the strongest to hold the whole hand，then I make th rest of the finger in order and put they on the palm. I use the tools to make the nails. wait until it dry, I use blue and green wire instead of bone to make the structure clear.
Reflection: I redo the palm a lot of times because it is hard to make a good shape, but at last I got it. Making fingers is also very hard, I don't know how long it will be and making the shape is difficult too. it is hard to tie the wire one because it is not very stable, but I find the solution to fix it. My idea is broken heart. First I am thinking about what topic I want to do and what meaning I want to express in this sculpture. Then I think about broken heart, I want to make a heart and some nails go through which represent the things that hurt the heart. I want to make people see what is a broken heart like. The meaning is you never know what is in the deep side of a person by looking at them, anything they hear can be a nail in their heart, it will bring huge effect to the person if there is too much nails.

Process
First we make a mind map, I chose this idea. Then I am thinking how I want to represent the thing hurt the heart, then I am thinking about the using the nail. I also think about what material I want to use to make the heart, finally I decide to use clay. The process of using the clay is so hard，I first add water to it to make it soft, then I make it flat and do some marks on the clay to mark the shape of prominent blood vessels. Then I use tools to shape the detail parts, to make it look more real. When it is a 2D sculpture it looks not like a heart, after finish doing the flat one I make a ball shape using the clay， then put it on the flat heart I made to make it 3D. after doing all of these the making of the shape of the sculpture has done. I wait one day to let dry and paint it with the color of a heart. After painting I put a layer of glue on top of it, dry it and it is what I did now.

Reflection                                                                
I think the sculpture I made looks good and my meaning is deep. I think I can express the idea by the sculpture almost well. Our job is to make the donate organ, we decide to make about 8 organs. The first step is to make sure what organs are we going to do, we will make heart, kidneys, lungs, leg bone, blood, brain, eyeball and liver. I draw a detail image of heart, kidneys, lungs, leg bone and blood. I make sure the shape is mostly prefect so it is better to look at when we are making, after the shape, I colored them. i think the drawing part is kind of easy because I did a heart before. Also, shelly do a very detail brain and eyeball drawing, Nicole make a liver, the shape and color label are really clear. Now, we finish the drawing of 8 organs, and we are about to start making them.

The problem I face this week is I didn’t put the paper on the plate, so the clay sticks on the plate, as a result I have to fix it. After finish fixing the kidney, I start to doing the second one, because there are 2 kidneys in a human. The second kidney is very similar with the first one so according to the experience I had, it is easier for me to make it, I am almost done. Also, there is a problem with my heat, because I add more clay to make a more perfect shape, it crushed. My group’s job is to make the organs, we are doing it quite good. After long times of making I start to find the right method, and I think I am really productive. We made 2 kidneys 1lung 1 liver 2 eye balls 1 brain 1 heart 1bone, they all look good. I like that we help each other and we enjoy the work and spend extra time on it. Shelly really helps members a lot, she help us solve a lot of questions and give us some useful suggestions. Nicole is really good at doing the blood vessels and she also help me to draw the vessels of my lung. Dan is  doing a really good job on making the bone, and also helping eyeballs and brain. We also faced a lot of challenges and make a lot of mistakes, for example my heart, it is crushing, Ms. Bess help me to fixed it.
