         <description><![CDATA[<div>Cats (known as Mau in Ancient Egypt) were a <em>huge </em>part of Egyptian culture and life. They were praised for their ability to kill snakes (especially cobras) and vermin which helped crop production.&nbsp; Cats were a symbol of grace and poise and given the highest esteem.<br><br>Cats represented fertility, sexuality, and motherhood. They are even a symbol to the goddess, Bast.<br><br>Cats even received the same mummification rights as humans, often seen as a offering to Bastet.<br><br>Harming a cat or killing one beckoned a severe punishment, and even death.</div>]]></description>
