Introduction:

Allah is the one who gives wealth and health (risq)
Risq = sustenance
Allah is the ultimate provider of risq
Ar-Razzaq, Ar-Raziq, Al Mu’ti, Al Wahhab

Conditions for Obtaining Sustenance

Conditions are presented in Surat al Waqqe’ah
Allah has said that he provided us natural resources and we as humans have to put in the effort and the work needed to obtain sustenance
Allah has put natural resources in place for the needy so they get sustenance

Laws and Guidance Concerning Risq:

Everyone should spend according to his capacity (how much he can afford)
Allah likes moderate spending (in between extravagant and miserliness)
Wealthy muslims must avoid arrogance and mischief (do not be involved in haram deals and cheat) (Allah may restrict wealth to protect his servant from these bad deeds)
Allah may favor some over others in wealth
Do not envy others when they inquire more wealth because it haram and muslims should be happy for people

Things That Help Us Gain and Increase Wealth:

Having true faith (blesses risq to his faithful and obedient believers)
Practicing Taqwa or righteousness (obedience brings you Allah’s favors)
Observing Tawakul/true reliance on Allah (putting trust in Allah)
Being kind to relatives (allah rewards those who are kind to relatives)
Allah instructed us to trust him but also to work hard to achieve our goals

Types of Risq:

Material Risq: (money, food, spouses, children)
Higher Risq: (guidance, faith, Taqwa, genoristy, comprehension, wisdom, light, cleansing of the soul, elevation in Jannah, forgiveness and ability to do many good deeds)

Laws and Guidance Concerning Rizq: Mahan, Karim, Amaan, Fahad, Suhair and Ahsan

-tawakkul means putting full trust in Allah and showing true reliance on Him.

-Allah rewards those who are good to their relatives and kinship by increasing and blessing their wealth in this life.
-Hadith "whoever likes to have his wealth expanded and his good deeds remembered for a long time he should be kind and close to his relatives."
