Gatsby open up about his dreams with Daisy and tells her about the Green Light under her dock which is something that Gatsby holds very close to his Heart. "Possibly it had occurred to him that the colossal significance of that light had now vanished forever" (page 93). This conveys that Gatsby is finally reaching his dream of getting back his relationship with Daisy.

In reality, Gatsby's hard work and effort to be a good person ended up only hurting Gatsby, "She only married you because I was poor and she was tired of waiting for me. It was a terrible mistake but in her heart she never loved any one except me (Fitzgerald 130)!" Gatsby continues to tell Tom that Daisy never loved him and goes crazy.
