         <description><![CDATA[<div>1.Abraham Lincoln - the 16th president that was during the civil war, created the emancipation proclamation, the 13th amendment and the reconstruction.<br>2.Reconstruction- period of time after the civil war where the south was re entering the union and the freed slaves were trying to get equal rights. ended with Hayes' presidency.<br>3. Black codes- codes that restricted the freedoms of the blacks such as curfews.<br>4. 13th amendment- amendment to the constitution that freed all slaves.<br>5. freedman's bureau- association that created schools, hospitals and helped the freed slaves and some poor whites get on their feet in the new south. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>
