I think that the Author's Point Of View about refugees is that the Author wants to show how difficult it is for the refugees to move countries and schools. In the text, it states "Everyone in Innocent's family spoke Kirundi and French, but not English. A church group was helping them, and a few of its members began to teach them English", which supports this as their point of view. I believe this is true because it must be difficult to have to move schools not knowing their language and not knowing how to communicate with them there.

In the text, It states that "We just thought of them as friends" meaning that they didn't pay attention to what they looked like, They payed attention to each other personality. They don't worry about the differences they just worry about who they are to each other and that's what matters! The moral of the story is that the sport brought people with "differences" together as one.
