In my opinion, with the rapid development of IT and the global circumstances, the necessity to improve online learning tools became crucial. Tools like Padlet I find very useful to improve the online/blended experience. I consider Padlet a very attractive tool, the idea of the virtual board with stick notes, records, pictures, videos…etc. for me is a very appealing way for students to engage and be proactive in the online or blended course (I even used it in a F2F class activity). I also like Padlet for being simple and easy to use even for those with ICT skills that are not very high.

This is what the author said in the article. Padlet is an innovative way to improve the learning experience and to enhance the performance of the students. Padlet, as an instructional web 2.0 tool:

· Facilitates interaction among students and also with the teacher

· Helps students remember the main ideas, as it activates different types of memory and activates our brain schemas.

· Motivates the learners and encourages them to express their own ideas, engage and collaborate

· Enhances their social and cognitive interactions and skills.

Information Communication Technology (ICT) has been critical and important in improving the quality of education. Recent research has pointed out that students who utilize ICT in their education and learning process become more responsible and productive in their studies. ICT, as indicated in the article, enables students to generate new knowledge and link between their previous and current knowledge. This indicates that students are not only taught conceptual frameworks and theoretical content; however, they learn how to create new knowledge and apply what they have studied in their lives. Several authors and researchers illustrated that ICT encourages “a higher level of thinking” and creates new knowledge through collaborative learning. This type of “collaboration” allows students to interact with each other using their “cognitive” and “social” skills. However, the article pointed out that there is still “ a deficiency” of collaborative tools in the information literacy field. Accordingly, further investigations for more effective tools have been needed.

Padlet is a free tool that can be used and accessed smoothly by students and academic staff. It allows individuals to publish and share their notions and knowledge smoothly. It also enables them to reflect and comment on each other’s work. In the article, the author highlighted that students felt extremely interested in using “Padlet” and generating new knowledge while collaborating with each other.

In my own perspective and based on my experience as a teacher and student, I think more smoothly tools are needed to instruct students’ activities and give them the space to be innovative. I agree with the author that “Padlet” is an effective and productive way for developing several skills students have; however, I think we need more “tools” like padlet to allow students to practice using several tools without feeling “bored” or not being able to reflect on their own learning process.

It shows how the students can interact together via sharing their thoughts and ideas regarding a certain topic on Padlet. In return, the collaborative learning process facilitated by Padlet enhances the learning experience of the students and increases their engagement and motivation. In my opinion, Padlet can be a great tool for online/ blended modes of learning especially in higher education as it is an easy to use application and very attractive to the students. Moreover, it can be used in asynchronous activities in blended learning as it gives the convenience of sharing ideas via posts in the students preferred timings.

Padlet is an instructional tool allowing for interactions and communication for the purpose of collaborative learning. The process of skills acquiring, internalizing, applying and creating new knowledge is achievable through Padlet, an interactive instructional tool. This occurs through interaction to improve memory and motivate learners. Not to mention that discussions occurring on Padlet enable learners to form a learning community with a shared goal for knowledge building; as dialogue and interaction allow for the internalization of learning. Through a constructivist lens, collaborative learning regard students as expert learners, where meaning and synthesis of knowledge is negotiated from multiple perspectives.
In the context of blending learning, interactive instructional tools can be used to allow for autonomy and engagement where students reflect and showcase resources used to address a specific topic.
