We choose this data set because it interested us to find the amount of calories that are in our favorite candy bars. It surprised us how many of the candy bars we eat are similar in the amount of calories that each have. It was interesting to see that the chocolate candy bars had more calories than the fruity candy. The line graph is the most clear and detects a definite increase and decrease in the data presented.

The histogram represented the frequency in which a candy had
a certain amount of calories. The candies in this graph were grouped if they
were between 120-160, 161-200, 201-240, and 241-280 calories. For this graph I
had to count how many times a data point occurred for certain calories. I did
this for all 50 data points. The result of this graph was that there was a
greater frequency for candies between 201-240 calories and a lower frequency
for candies between 161-200 calories. This graph represents the mode of the
data points rather than the mean and median. The data points were clustered but not in a bell-shape curve. There weren’t as many candies in the 161-200 calories range so that contributed to a steep decline.

In the box-and-whiskers chart, we see the calories of 50 different candy choices. We can observe that the maximum calorie for a set of random candy bars and fruity snacks is 280 and the minimum is 120 out of our selections of candies. The first quartile is 165 and the third quartile is 250. The median is 214 calories. The mean in this set of data is 211.96. We can also observe from looking at the other charts they all have similar characteristics. The most common time we see the charts increase is between 201-240 calories. Something that surprised me was how similar the chocolate candy bars are calorie wise. I feel as if the box-and-whiskers chart doesn't impact the audience reading it as much as the line graph or the histogram.
Looking over the line graph for 50 random candies and their calories, I noticed how slightly the line overall goes down. The candies are grouped in three groups starting with chocolate candy bars to hard candies then to chocolate candies like M&M’s
and such. The graph evens out in the middle a little bit and slowly goes down.
Regardless the calorie change between candies is a lot. The graph spikes up and
drastically spikes back down. At some points for example between starburst and
the beginning of chocolate again the chart was stable very low and spiked up
with chocolate. This graph overall shows that chocolate has the most calories
when it comes to candy.

The Pie chart is displaying the all the calories in all 50 candies. The calories shown do range between 120 and 280. This graph shows that multiple candy bars have the same amount of calories as others. This graph shows us the mode, which is 210. There is a lot of information in this graph with having all 50 candies shown separately. The graph also shows all the candies differences in calories. The differences are easily shown by bigger triangles in the pie chart. The smaller candies where shown with smaller triangles allowing me to notice that there weren’t as many candy between 120 –200 calories. To contrast with the histogram, the pie chart uses all 50 of the candies calories instead of putting them into separate groups.
