Libreville is the capital and largest city of Gabon. Occupying 65 square kilometers sq mi in the northwestern province of Estuary, Libreville is a port on the Komo River, near the Gulf of Guinea.Between 1860 and 1874, the British, Germans, and Americans established businesses in Libreville, which from 1888 to 1904 was the capital of French Equatorial Africa.
