*Interlock sections of 'coverage' and 'progression'.
*The Jenga model - all about schemas.
*'Pub quiz' style of learning isn't the way to go - learning must be deeper and knowledge should be in depth, not 'on the surface'.
*KRP (knowledge rich products); what do the children need to know?
*Everyone must have a knowledge of what every other year group is studying - so you know where pupils have come from, and where they need to progress next. (Jigsaw model - all the pieces fit together!)
*In favour of a thematic approach to humanities as it ensures coverage. However, this is not done well across the board - some schools make tedious links.
*Assessment should inform planning and progression.
*Coverage is knowledge, understanding and skills of the curriculum.
*The curriculum should be adapted for calendar factors, such as shorter half terms - topics are adapted to key content is not missed.

Including the wider narrative which adds context and with it includes diverse themes.
The enquiry approach adds elements of autonomy for pupils and allows all to be involved in their learning - this can be emulated across all the humanities subjects.
Erasing preconceptions about the history of black people in England.
Thinking outside the box when it comes to teaching a topic - what else is going on at that time? Linking it all together into a wider narrative to build on learning and minimise preconceptions.
Opening pupils' eyes to the bigger picture would allow for more diversity across the curriculum
