ANSWER 1
Malaysian started the development of automotive design in the early 1980s which is marks a significant change of industrialization strategy in Malaysia towards building a nationally owned and controlled automotive industry. PROTON had produced Malaysia's first car, the Proton Saga that launched on July 9. 1985 by then Malaysian Prime Minister, Dato' Seri Mahathir Mohamed, who had originality conceived the idea of a Malaysian car.
Malaysian transport design history has been seen by looking at the milestones of the three major companies directly involved Proton, Perodua and Modenas. Its all started by Proton which had investment in research and development include of the styling studio, CAD/CAM facilities, component and materials test labs, engine development facilities and more. Proton mostly manufacturer locally badge engineered vehicles from Mitsubishi Motors. As well the example, Proton has come with Proton Wira as the first locally designed model, setting a new path for Proton's direction towards design which was launched in 2000.
Perodua is the second batch for the development of automobile by Malaysia. It's also opened by the same Prime Minister Dato' Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamed. Perodua was founded in 1993 and launched in 1994, it is better known for its range of 'city car' or called it as compact car. Perodua Kancil is the first batch of Perodua car. Therefore, the third development in Malaysia's automotive is Modenas. It was formed in 1995 as a National Motorcycle Project following the success of PROTON. It was established in line with Malaysia's effort to achieve industrialized nation status which is Vision of 2020. It manufacturers and assembles Malaysian made motorcycle and scooter.
To sum up, research has shown that perception of quality in the automotive industry has moved from traditional quality and reliability attributes to more emotional and sensory elements known as craftsmanship. Proton believes that the automotive industry is continuously evolving.

2.
The industrial design in Malaysia had started by informal education was mostly hereditary based, it began as a transfer of skills within the family. UiTM once called Institut Teknologi MARA (ITM) was started formal industrial design education in developing Malaysia’s design industry.
It all started with a Department of Art & Design, part of the School of Applied Arts & Architecture in 1967. In 1972, the Department of Art & Design separated from the School of Applied Arts & Architecture, forming a new Faculty of Art & Design which offered an Industrial Design Programme.
In UiTM students are learning about developing a new products design and innovate a better one for better future. Its divided to three major course which is product design, transport design and furniture design. Instead of learning about industry students are able to gain knowledge about a bit of architecture design, interior and graphic design. Students learn about many things such as do the design sketches, digital design in photoshop and illustrator, make a 3D model design and CAD.
In 1973, seven out of nine students completed their studies in Industrial Design and pioneered the development and growth of Industrial Design in Malaysia. After graduated students able to work in industry companies along the worlds. Many of industrial designer in Proton, Modenas and more had graduated from UiTM.
As the conclusion, UiTM had birth more better graduations and develope 'anak-anak Melayu' on their skills. Because UiTM enhance all the facilities towards the advance and better design for industry in Malaysia.

The Malaysian automotive industry expanded in terms of sales, production, employment and local content, but failed in industrial upgrading and international competitiveness. So, there is some discussion that i have made about the development of Malaysia's automotive design industry which started in the 1980s.

The Heavy Industrial Policy in the early 1980s marks a significant change of industrialisation strategy in Malaysia towards building a nationally owned and controlled automotive industry. The inauguration of the first national automotive project, PROTON, in 1983 with the formation of a joint venture between the Heavy Industry Corporation of Malaysia (HICOM), Equipped with the protective measures and subsidies in various ways by the government, the first Proton cars were rolled out in 1985. Subsequently, the national automotive programme also established a small car manufacturer (PERODUA) in 1993, a heavy vehicle company (Malaysian Bus and Truck, MTB) in 1994, a motorcycle manufacturer (MODENAS) in 1995. With the announcement of the ‘National Automotive Policy’ (NAP) in 2006 and its review in 2009, the Malaysian government further confirmed the previous policy of developing a national automotive industry of OEMs and supplier and related industries as envisaged in the early 1980s (MIDA, 2006; MITI, 2009).

They were started with a department of art and design which is the part of the school of applied arts and architecture in 1967. But in 1972,the department of art and design has been separated from applied art and architecture because this is a form to make a new faculty of art and design which offered an art and design programme. There is seven out of 9 student graduate in industrial design and pioneered the development and growth of industrial design in Malaysia.
