What is the % and how does it affect place identity?<br>- Black ,Minority and ethnic: population of Middlesbrough shows that over 88% of the population is White British. The population consists of 6.4% Asian residents and 1% Black residents.<br>In the JSNA document - Middlesbrough is the most ethnically diverse local authority area in the Tees Valley, with a BME population of 11 .7% </div><div>identified at Census 2011, an increase of 86% since 2001, and which is projected to grow further</div><div> . <strong>Some wards, notably </strong></div><div><strong>Central at 55 .4%</strong>, have very significant BME populations .</div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think it might be a sculpture of a colliery or iron ore mine waste heap. <br>And in the background? <br>- Brand new homes have been built on the Middlehaven site in Middlesbrough as a key part of the regeneration of the area.<br>The scheme hopes to attract entrepreneurial people and help create an exciting new urban quarter in Middlesbrough.<br>It is a joint venture between Middlesbrough Council and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA). There are nine two bedroom homes sitting alongside the Urban Park, at the heart of the Middlehaven site a row of houses on Durham street<br>What was here in the past?
