What is your attitude toward reading? Why? Identify people or experiences that caused you to either enjoy or dislike reading

I do like reading, so I would say my attitude toward reading is good. I enjoy reading, but I am picky on what type of books I like. I am into romance fiction books. If I am not hooked by the first couple pages though, I cannot continue to read it. So, I like and enjoy reading, but I do not read as often as I would like to because I cannot find books that suit me 100%. One experience that I have that caused me to enjoy reading more was when I was a junior in high school, we used to read whatever book we wanted the last 20 minutes of class. Most teachers do not let you choose what to read, so that had a good impact on me.

When I was in fourth grade, we had to take AR (Accelerated Reading) tests. We had to get a certain amount of AR points every nine weeks and I remember checking out a Junie. B. Jones book every single day and reading one of those books a day. I really enjoyed those books and I also enjoyed looking for books in the library.

I remember when I was seven years old, I used to play "baby school" with my two year old sister and pretend to be a teacher. I would constantly read to her and come up with little activities to help her learn. I can say that I successfully taught my little sister to read when she was only two. I mostly read Dick & Jane books to her.

One book that impacted my life is the Bible. I know that seems really cliche, but no other book has made me feel so at peace other than the Bible. My favorite verse from this book is Psalm 118:6 "The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?" I try to live by this everyday.
