It allows students with different learning styles to be able to engage in a way that suits them. I thought I preferred doing the written assessment, but now after doing two video ones, I wonder if I remember how to express myself using the written word again haha. But I like that mix. It's fascinating to think that our communication is so heavily monitored within the speech communities that we have created and that it's become very strictly codified in some areas such as News and visiting the doctor, to the extent that breaking expectations can seem so weird.

I thought this was to do with perhaps cross-cultural differences, or that I am too literal.
