The Nights by Avicii is the song which I frequently listen to and it is my favorite song. It has also made a big impact in my life and the first time I heard this song was when I was playing a video game. Basically the meaning of the song is about not wasting your time or your life and make sure you enjoy life. Furthermore, I'm a person who wants to live a happy life and that is why this song is very meaningful to me.

Personally I am a he fan of him and I love all his songs but I choose this song is because this song has so much of meaning in it. This song is from a Tamil Film Maryan and its about a guy goes to Africa to work for his save his girlfriends family and his family as well. On his way back he will be kidnapped by the terrorist and how he will escape from them and save his life. This song is my current addiction because its almost similar with what I have been going through in my life. How a person can love another even though we know they are already with someone else. Trust issues, how can we believe someone blindly but they can just break our hearts. Fake promises and lies, and how to control our feelings and move on. This song is motivational and also express the feeling how we feel when we are been cheated.

Basically I’m not a updater of latest song in market! All the song above is from a Malaysian artist named Mugen Rao. His songs which makes me feel good and cried most of the time. All the 3 songs impacted myself and make me to keep my phone on .

Ennai kollathey is song in a recent Movie Gethayin Radhai . I watched this movie in cinema only because of the song. Basically is about love failure song. Where the hero n heroine goes through a hard time being together. I feel the song and I myself can imagine the situation even before the movie is released. My favourite lyrics in the song

Anbe Aaruyire is a complicated love story. Where the hero is in relationship with his girlfriend at the same time flirts with another girl (this girl is very sincere with the guy since he is very nice to her). Both the girls got to know the situation they going through. He himself decided to go for the second girl(he flirts with ). By the time he goes to meet her and explain the situation that girl is death (suicide).

Basically there 2 parts in the song which makes me to realize. One the blindness love the second girl had on the boy. There arent in relantionship but the amount of trust and love on him was too much till he realized thats the girl for the life.
Secondly, SUICIDE is not only solution to solve the problem. If at all she waited patiently to solve the problem it would turn better than what she taught.
Think before going something. Life is hard but learn to get over and live it in better way.

The 3rd song (KAYALVIZHI) is a tamil love which all about love between couple before and after marriage. How nice to get married to the person you love the most and having the best life moments with them.

Buying a original track once a month will not cost you much its just a small support we can show to our favourite singer or song !!! a small effort from us make huge impact on their career being an artist. Many artist out there their talents are hidden and not exposed to the world this because they feel this career is not permanent and stable. Thus, not much talents can be brought up. support them by buying original tracks, going for music concert (enjoy the music in good way).

This song never fail to make me feel melancholic and spacey every time I come back to listen to it over and over again. It tells the perspective of Frank who has never quite moved on from his ex-lover whom he still passionately loved. The lyrics have a lot of metaphors and symbolism such as ‘Much like Arizona, my eyes they don’t shed tears’ in which Arizona is one of the places that doesn’t have much rain. In this case, he is referring his tears to the lack of raindrops in Arizona. 

My favourite part of the song is of course, the chorus where Frank just beautifully sang it ‘Or do you not think so far ahead, Cause I’ve been thinking about forever….’. Despite how beautiful and melodious it sounds, the frustration is apparent in his choice of words as he felt so sad how this person he loved never realized how much he loved him. He also was wondering if this person thought the same too; if he wants to live and stay forever together with Frank. 

I’m such a sucker for one-sided love and this song just makes me feel sad and unnecessarily lonely.  

“You know you were my first time, a new feel . It will never get old, not in my soul, not in my spirit, keep it alive” – the best line. 

 

  

But my goodness, the song actually builds up not only in terms of the music, but also the story of the lyrics and in the end, you are just left feeling a lot of frustration and sadness all at the same time. 

Boys in The Street is a pretty straightforward song and I really think the singer of this cover did a very good job of delivering every ounce of emotion that is related to the essence of this story.

In the song Retrograde, the singer and writer of the song explained that the song was about falling in love, but to me, I perceived it differently. It has a very haunting sound to it, his voice and the music sounds alive. The vocals and melody are rich and just exudes all the feels. To me it’s a song I can listen to during any sort of mood, be it happy or sad. I really hope everyone listens to this song, if you’re feeling sad, this song will not cheer you up. To be honest, I listen to all of the songs in the Currents album and loved ALL of them but this song happens to be one of my favorites: the tunes are slow and faded but there is a sense of hopefulness in the lyrics that never fail to burn a slow, but sure flame of optimism in me – that there will be a future that is waiting for me. 

Life is just a variety of phases and stories that we have to complete and overcome before we can proceed to the next level; move on to something better. 

Although this song tells of how there is nothing left for a couple and how they would need to move from each other, the single ol’ me decided to interpret it as me moving on from any of my bad pasts and step into the unexpected future, which is much better than what I’ve felt before.

I definitely recommend you to listen this song, although this song released since 2013. But still it's the best.

I love this song because it is somehow comforting eventhough it is a depressing song. Haha. It reminds me of my ex-boyfriend who chose to be with another girl and I’ve just found out recently he still couldn’t move on from me. I don’t know but it’s satisfying to know that, especially now that I am better off without him. Didn’t mean to sound psychotic but I’m being honest!

This is a Korean song sung by a young talented lady who was the runner-up of SBS’s K-Pop Star Season 1. This song gave me hope and I was so overwhelmed with so much emotions the first time I heard this song and read the  lyrics. 

 

 

This song tells about how it is okay to make mistakes from time to time. We are human beings and humans make mistakes. When you feel like no one understands your problems or feelings, this song tells that there is someone who would embrace you and tells you that everything is going to be alright. Just breathe in deeply and exhale just as you are.

The story behind this song was about my bestfriend who broke up with his girl who’s also my bestfriend(!) a few years back. The broke up scarred him so much and this was one of the songs he listened to during the period. Eventhough I was closer to the girl, I understood my bestfriend better which was why I listened to the same song. I was going through the same thing so this song spoke to me. 

 

Labrinth is jealous of anyting that gets to be closer to the girl who left him. Eventhough he is in pieces,  he still cares for the woman who broke his heart. He forgave her and let her go even when he didn’t want her to leave. He expected her to come back as she would miss him but she found love in another man’s arm.

The first song is about not giving up on loving someone, loving oneself, and not giving up on your own dreams which motivated me in my studies and my own confidence.  

The second song is about a story revolving around a situation of violence between couples.  The video of the song shows a girl being abused by her boyfriend while Mendes hopes to be with her and does not understand why the girl prefers to be in the abusive relationship. For me this taught me a very valuable lesson when in a relationship and that is no matter what you do , you must learn to control your emotions and do not let your emotions control you as you will become a very scary and abusive person if you do. It also teaches me that you should always treat your other half in the correct way and not be abusive in the relationship.

The third song is basically means what kind of man are you. It teaches you that you must appreciate your other half while you are in a relationship and hold on to her and never let go no matter what happens. Always be confident while in a relationship and be brave and always be there for her when she is in hard times.

 

We need to take knowledge that art is just as essential as technology and science in our lives. In my opinion, I think this problem extends further to what society thinks of art and how ‘useless’ it is – also it being the path less-travelled by because it doesn’t pay enough. 

 

For there to be a profit for these artists, us as a consumer need to also contribute to the art counterparts of our society. We need to believe that Arts does matter and in order to sustain it, we need to fully support it. 

 

Whenever I find a few of indie artists who make music in their free time, mostly on Soundcloud and Instagram/Twitter, I think it is important that we encourage them to make more music by commenting about their work. With this, we can give a sense of support for them to keep on going.

For the song “Try” by Colbie Caillat, I listen to it a lot as it has a very deep meaning in the song. I heard it on the radio one day and fell in love with the melodies almost immediately. I listened to it as I was growing up until I started to understand the meaning of the song which made me more in love with the meaning of the song. The lyrics tells us that we don’t have to change who we are for the sake of other people. The make-up conceals our flaws. The message she is trying to say is that we do not need to buy expensive things to impress others. We don’t need to cover up our flaws to impress others. We need to love ourselves for who we are. The song lyrics describe the song perfectly. Personally, I love the last verse as there are so much power to the lyrics.

 

For my second song, “You’re Worth It” by Cimorelli, it also conveys a very important message. The lyrics got to me when I heard it. It means we are not who other people think we are. We are worth it as a person. This song tells me that everything will get better sooner or later. We won’t just be an anonymous person. People will notice. I heard this song when it was released in the album “Renegade”. The entire song is quite inspirational and it’s a message that should be heard by anyone. Especially teen girls as it is the time when they doubt themselves in so many ways. This song can help teens feel empowered. I think this is the message that they are trying to send to the public.

 

The third song I chose is “Airplanes” by B.O.B featuring Hayley Williams. My brother introduced me this song when I was younger but lost in touch with the song until a while back but I still have to say that it’s one of the songs that influenced me. It says that we can do anything. We can fulfill our dreams if we try. Nothing is impossible if we try. Sometimes when we wish, it might come true. This song can make someone work to fulfill their dreams.

 

 

The word “Miiro” in Japanese is “The Colour of the Sea”. The song is about warships who fought the harsh naval warfare during the WWII. The song is so deep that I couldn’t translate most of it since it’s in Japanese and it’s in Hiragana? Katakana? I don’t know. But somehow I get the gist of it though. The song is also tributes to those who fought the war (mainly the Japanese who fought for their Emperor).

Having such lusts of warships is not my thing, but most of the characters in that anime resembles of Japanese warships in WWII era. Like for the Destroyers, they looked young and cute. Cruisers, they looked middle aged and elegant. Battleships, they’re woman with will-power and Aircraft carrier, they are Godmother. Damn….

For the first song, High Hopes by Kodaline, it is a song that I listen almost every night before I sleep. For me, this is a song related to people who have lost their loved ones , or just ended a relationship in their life. The first sentence of the lyrics ‘ Broken bottles in the hotel lobby’ represent the frustration and the sadness to admit that how difficult it is to let go. People often say that life goes on no matter what and we have to move on, but it is not actually that easy to be done. The first time that I’ve heard of this song is during my high school, I was studying with my friends while listening to the online radio, and this song was played. Ever since that day, it became one of my favourite songs. Whenever I encounter any problems or feeling down, this song will give me power and courage to carry on with my life. It gives me hope as memories are often made but are gone within a brief moment. It taught me that at some point of our lives,no matter how we are feeling at the moment, the world will keep spinning and goes on.

 

For the second song, 稻香 (rice field ) by Jay Chou. It is a motivational song. The first part of the lyrics is really meaningful to me. It changed my life. It taught me that I should be grateful and appreciate what I have at the moment. When I was young, I was arrogant and disobedient as I always argue with my parent. They doted me very much and gave almost everything that I want but I always want for more. After listening to this song, it changes my point of view for being such an ignorant person.

For the third song, 不能说的秘密 by Jay Chou literally mean the secret that cannot be told. This is the theme song for the movie ‘Secret’. I love this song basically because that I am a big fan of Jay Chou. The movie talks about a simple but romantic love story and Jay Chou admitted that it was adapted from his personal experiences, although it was not as romantic as the story in the movie. When the song is played in the movie, it made the movie more perfectly. To sum up, Jay Chou is my role model as he is the one that ‘accompany’ me growing up. I have learnt to not giving up so easily and be more optimistic in life. His songs somehow influenced me and made a big impact in my life. No one is perfect but for me he is perfect enough.

‘***Flawless (ft. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie)’ is one of my favorite songs because it’s insanely empowering. Whenever I listen to it, I feel liberated and it gives me that extra boost of confidence. ‘I'm so crown crown, bow down bitches’ is a line that will make you feel like you can do anything, but not in the sense that you have to be conceited or consider yourself to be better than anyone. ‘You wake up, flawless’ is an oxymoron because nobody in the real world ever wakes up flawless. However, the meaning behind it is that you should wake up feeling good. 

 

In the song, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s verse is so real, which adds more meaning to the song. She delves deep into what girls are usually told and are expected to do. “We teach girls to shrink themselves // To make themselves smaller // We say to girls, // "You can have ambition // But not too much // You should aim to be successful // But not too successful // Otherwise you will threaten the man." 

 

 

2) Another favorite of mine is Bob Marley. I grew up listening to his songs, thanks to my dad. ‘Waiting in Vain’ is a song that really hits home, especially the acoustic version, which is my favorite because it sounds more raw and honest. The meaning of  ‘I don't wanna wait in vain for your love’ means that you don’t want to sit around filling yourself up with false hope.

3) ‘Here Comes the Sun’ by The Beatles is a song that I hold very close to my heart because it reminds me of both my childhood and home. As a kid, my parents would put this song on full blast whilst I would prance around singing at the top of my lungs. Every time I listen to this song it always calms my nerves and it takes me back to the good old days.

This song actually first recorded by Percy Sledge in 1966 and was covered by singer Michael Bolton in 1991 for his album “ Time, Love & Tenderness ”.

I really fancy on Michael Bolton version, the voice of him just simply impressed me so much. His  performance of “ When a man loves a woman “ made the song a classic.

This is all about a man being in love. When you really go through the lyrics, you will realize how deep it is.

This song actually touched my heart most of the time.

3.     I Won’t Tell A Soul by Charlie Puth 

 

The reason I frequency listen to this song actually is just simple and easy, cause Charlie Puth’s voice is too sexy. But, this song is really unlike other songs. 

For me, the background story and the meaning of this song is complicated and I’m actually not  agree with that when I go through the lyrics.

He expressed his annoyance over the fact that the girl he is in love with is already another man’s official lover. They are secret lovers but they wouldn’t want to be away from each other,and he wants his secret lover to stay with him and assures her of remaining tight-lipped about their love affair. Both of them seem to be fine with this affair. 

This song is about those who fall in love secretly and are okay with cheating. 

For me, I really not agree with the lyrics cause loyalty is the most important thing when come to love. 

Anyways, Charlie Puth’s voice really my stress reliever and always putting me into a comfort and relaxing mood. I still love his voice that much.

 

Or in another way, simply go to their concerts and buy their products. There are a lot of artists who also do businesses so support them by buying from their brands!

Photograph is one of my favourite song in Ed Sheeran. I love Ed Sheeran’s songs it is because his voice will bring me in to the situation that he sang.

The lyrics that I love in this song is

I pretty sure nowadays people don’t willing to pay for those music albums since it’s easy to get it online for free. Actually there’s really not much ways to support those artists / band we love by not spending some money on their albums or concerts. 

Actually they are worth to support financially for their passion and efforts for making good music and we should really appreciate it. Maybe we can support them by buying their other products or purchase their songs in iTunes since it’s much cheaper than purchase the whole album of it. 

 

For me, one of my alternative way to support my favourite singers is I had brought the Spotify premium, it’ll charged RM15 per month but I think it worth it because I can listen to almost every songs with no advertisements compare to if I buy an album with RM100++. 

Besides, another way of support my artists is I’ll watch their music videos on YouTube. The artists’ companies will count the total numbers of viewers, when the viewers had achieved more views, YouTube will keep posting the videos on their sites. 

So, in my opinion, these two ways had helped me to support my favourite musicians and singers without paying for the music.

From this section here, it’s being said how one should not limit one’s self to not be afraid of , be yourself, take risks, only then you would reach the top. It might be difficult at first, but you’ll be glad that you’ve stepped out of the box later on. Don’t be afraid to speak out as there is more to learn and experience in life. 

 

This song is very meaningful to me because it shows how one should always  embrace themselves and not be afraid of limitations. Sometimes when life gets tough, you should always look back and realize, you are stronger than what you think you are and your fears and obstacles can be faced if you believe in yourself.

2.     Hold On Til’ The Night by Greyson Chance

This song is mostly about gaining confidence. In this song, Greyson tells his audience to not be afraid of the situations they are in, even when life throws you obstacles, do not be afraid of facing the fears you’re caught up with.  

 

“Running to the light, get out of your own way, not afraid to fight, believing what you say”. From the lyrics here, it means that you should not be afraid of challenging yourself to new things, get out of your own comfort zone, and do not be afraid to fight for what you think is right, and to always believe in yourself.

 

This song is very meaningful to me because it states a deep meaning of not being afraid to be yourself, embrace yourself, embrace your weirdness! Everyone is different in their own ways and you don’t necessarily have to “fit in” to be cool. Weird is cool. Always be yourself, believe in yourself, have confidence and look at the world with a new perspective. Also, “Hold On Til’ The Night” is the title of his first full-length album – also known as a LP Record since debuted. 

 

 

3.     More Than Me by Greyson Chance

This song means the most to Greyson from his latest EP Record, Somewhere Over My Head, which was released on May 23rd 2016. In this song, Greyson states how “life isn’t nothing but chasin’  the time, for I wanted more, you wanted more than me”. This song is a song based on how he felt like after he was dropped from his major label record, Interscope back in late 2012. He was dropped because his sales did not sky rocket back in the States and they decided to drop him even though Greyson received Gold and even Platinum awards for his sales here in Asia. Greyson was really sad about it because he trusted them so much and they just backfired him like that. This song states about how he feels really disappointed with them and how he dealt with it. He took 8 months to write this song back at his place. 

 

This song itself has actually 2 songs in it, the second part of it was actually titled to be “Somewhere Over My Head” but due to certain reasons, Greyson combined both the songs together and merged it with a beautiful transaction. “The smoke got cleared, when the days turned months, and the months turned years, for the anger fades, when I took a step back, realization came, you weren’t looking at me, you were looking instead, somewhere over my head”. From the lyrics here, it states how everything is finally cleared that even after you have given your best in so many things for a long period of time,  when you take a step back to see the full picture, you would realize not everyone would be appreciative of  what you have done/contributed, some of them probably just wanted you for benefits. They have you when they are in need of help, and ditch you when they have benefits and other good things to them.

 

This song is very meaningful to me because it taught me how expectations can be different from reality and that we should always be cautious of who we place our trust in. People these days can be disguise like a wolf in a sheep’s wool, be sure to know, follow your instincts, and be careful of who you choose to trust.
