We snowmobiled at Midnight, dog and reindeer sledded, cross country skied and were invited to learn about the indigenous Sami people by a 5th generation shaman. We become one with the Lapland region that week and came to love it and understand its importance. The traditions are deep rooted and so special. The whole trip was incredible and we would like to go back in the summer.

We hadn’t seen the aurora yet, and with a snowstorm overhead and less than a 1% chance on the forecast, I had accepted that it simply wasn’t meant to be.

Our guide led us through the heavy snowfall to a beautiful river so we could at least enjoy some night photography. As I was photographing the scene, he said, “Turn around.” When I did, the entire sky was lit up turquoise. The clouds had parted, and despite the minuscule odds, we got to see the lights for almost an hour.

This was one of the most special moments of my life and something I will cherish forever.

Ours was about becoming a family.

On our 50 Degrees North Scenic Fjords of Norway tour, my birth mother, adopted sister, and I took our first trip together—three lives finally coming together in a new way. Along the journey, we grew closer not only to each other, but also to the wonderful group we shared the experience with.

One moment we’ll never forget was at the Sagastad Museum, standing before the Myklebust ship. What started as simple fun turned into something unforgettable as we dressed in Viking gear and fully embraced the experience. Before long, we were helping other visitors join in—laughing, posing, and creating memories together.

Somewhere in that moment—between the history, the laughter, and the shared experience—something shifted. We weren’t just traveling together anymore. We were truly connected.

We left Norway with more than photos. We left as a family.

Bucket list...see a puffin...tick!

This 2 hour detour off the ring road in Iceland's East was 100% worth it. Not only did we see hundreds of puffins but we also saw an Arctic Fox dash across the road and a couple of reindeer ambling along. There were soooo many highlights in our 12 day trip but for me this topped it all.
