What I have learned in Professor Julia Rodas class is a bunch of  things! Some things that I learned in this class is how to work cite at then end of you essay or at the end of your writing! I have never ever learned that in high school. But now I know how to work cite text or even movies! Some tips that I picked up in this class were to always write a draft paper before your essay so you can come up with ideas what your essay is going to be about, so you don’t feel hopeless about what you are even going to write in your paper! But I have also learned new texts that I have never read before in my life. Two texts that I found interesting to me were Tizon’s  “My family slave” or “Lola’s Story”. Where it talks about how a Philippine woman named Lola was a slave for 56 years of the own author of the story. She would do all the cleaning in his family house, take care of his brothers, etc. but she wouldn’t get paid at all! She was also uneducated, undocumented, and exploited to work. She was actually sold to Tizon’s father and gave it as a gift to his mom to typically have her as a “slave”.  Another story that I really found interesting while being in this class is “Prostitution is just another job?” By MCclelland’s. Where this story talks about women being sex workers , being in need for the money in order for them to pay off college tuitions, family needs or even please themselves. I found this text really interesting to me while I read it in class because women selling their bodies in order for the money is not right , but for some of them are. But I had learned many things in this class , that I can’t write all of them , but will always have with me wherever I go!
