         <title>Cornelius Vanderbilt</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Cornelius Vanderbilt was the wealthiest man in the 19th century. He was born in May of 1795. Cornelius started his career operating boats alongside his father. His mother offered him a loan of 100$ to build his own boat, but knowing he couldn't do it his self he hired some local youth to help him. During the war of 1812 Vanderbilt prospered in his business after securing a government contract. In 1829 he Built his own shipping business and his fortune and monopoly just grew from there.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <title>Jay Gould </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Jay Gould, was born in Roxbury, New York in May of 1836. He began by being employed to make maps of counties, also later on being employed to be a blacksmith. In 1867 Gould obtained a position on the board of the Erie railroad, he began to work with Daniel Drew who had been manipulating stocks on Wall Street. During the "war of the Erie railroad" Gould and Fisk fought with Vanderbilt to control the railroad, and Gould won control. He became very smart and began to better understand the stocks, eventually became very wealthy from them. </div>]]></description>

         <title>J.P. Morgan </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>J.P. Morgan was born in April of 1837 in Hartford Connecticut. He grew up with a father who was a successful banker and taught him much of what he knew. After two years of studying banking in Germany, he entered the banking company. After learning the business fundamentals he opened his own office in New York. A few years later Morgan became very involved in the railroad industry, he helped William Vanderbilt sell some of his railroad holdings. Eventually Morgan worked his way to the top of the banking chain and became a very successful robber baron. </div>]]></description>

         <title>John D. Rockefeller </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>John D. Rockefeller was considered one of the most notorious robber barons. During the 19th century Rockefeller had a tight control over the oil industry. He was born in Richford New York on July 8, 1839. Growing up Rockefeller learned everything he could about running a business, he started his first company at age 19. His firm became very successful, but he wanted to do something new, so he turned his focus to oil. He began his journey of taking over the oil industry here. Slowly he gained more and more power over the oil industry until he had complete power. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Andrew Carnegie</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Andrew Carnegie became very wealthy during the 19th century due to the growing steel industry. He grew up in Pennsylvania with a father who was in the textile industry. Carnegie worked alongside his father in the textile factory for a few early years and then later took a job as a messenger. As the years went on Carnegie developed an interest in the upcoming Bessemer process. He learned everything he could about this new process. By using this process in mass production of steel Andrew Carnegie became a robber baron in the steel industry.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
