         <title>1. Introductory (Acquisition) Activity</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Aim</strong>: To subtly introduce the topic of communication to the class on a pre-recorded PowerPoint presentation uploaded on Google Classroom.</p><p><br/></p><p>Begin by asking what the students think communication is. Followed by their explanation and reason behind their thinking. </p><p><br/></p><p>Students will then be asked to recall a time when they have observed bad communication.</p><p><br/></p><p>Furthermore, students will be asked why the communication was bad and asked to brainstorm ways of avoiding this in the future using Canva. Students will upload their Canva to the Google Classroom space</p><p><br/></p><p>Present the PowerPoint presentation on the topic to the class on a Pre recorded video.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Timing</strong>: 30 minutes</p><p><strong>Resources</strong>: Powerpoint Presentation and Canva for brainstorming. </p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

         <title>5.  Practise and Collaboration (Listening for meaning and intent)</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Aim</strong>: To develop active listening, and improve comprehension, and intent in verbal communication.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Students will explore how to interpret verbal communication through listening.</strong></p><p><br/></p><p>Students will watch a Ted Talk YouTube video. </p><p>(On Google Classroom)</p><p><br/></p><p>Students will then be asked to identify what emotion is being portrayed through the video based on the tone of the speaker's voice.</p><p><br/></p><p>This will enable students to identify emotion through tone.</p><p><br/></p><p>Students will be asked what the main point or argument being made was in the clip.</p><p><br/></p><p>Post-listening, students will be asked what phrases or sections of the audio stood out to them and why.</p><p><br/></p><p>Answers to questions will be answered through a Google Forms available on Google Classroom</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Timing</strong>: 15 minutes</p><p><strong>Resources</strong>: Youtube, Google Forms (To answer questions).</p>]]></description>
