-We study TTTC to gain a better understanding of war and the idea of identity. As well as how that identity changes as a result of a traumatic experience.
-We study literature to gain perspective.
2. How are we affected by literary texts in various ways? How are we impacted by TTTC?
-In every text you read, you gain something. It might be a new idea or way of thinking, possibly even inspiring a realization about oneself
-By reading TTTC we gain insights into human nature and garner a further understanding of trauma.
3. In what ways is meaning constructed, negotiated, expressed and interpreted in TTTC?
-Meaning is waht we make of it

4. How does the structure of style of TTTC affect its meaning?
-By writing vignettes and them turning around and telling the reader they are fake, it makes the reader think and question everything O'Brien writes. Therefore urging them to dig deeper and look at why he would tell a story if it is a false.

"On the Rainy River" Analysis Paragraph (Link Here)
In “On the Rainy River," Tim O’Brien is facing a choice between inner cowardice or courage and represents that by metaphorically putting historical and personal figures of great importance on the lakeshore. Internally, O’Brien feels like everyone is telling him to go one way or another. They are telling him which way is right or wrong by “whooping and chanting and urging [him] toward one shore or the other”, because he is conflicted on whether he should do what he believes is right, and not fight, or fight for his country regardless of his values. He is imagining people that he believes are wiser than him like Abraham Lincoln and will make the correct choice. He writes about this to show the readers how unqualified he feels to even be making this decision.       1. In impactful stories the issues they cover stay relevant no matter when you read them but over time these ideas can be built upon and grown to fit new events or information.

      1. When words are spelled a certain way or sentences structured intentionally you can get an idea of the speaker's intelligence or cultural background. For instance, in the "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" the words were very intentionally spelled a certain way to show that the character lived in the South.
