Asia

Asia is different from the U.S. in many ways. Here are a few examples. Sports are a pretty popular pastime in Asia. There is also a VERY large amount of languages in Asia.

In Asia sports are known to be the most popular pastime there. Sports such as badminton, table tennis, cricket and many more have been considered the most popular sports in Asia. Badminton is a game where you use a racquet to hit something back and forth over a net. Points are scored by hitting something over the net and landing it on the floor of your opponent's side. Cricket is another sport where you have to hit something towards someone, except the rules are different. It’s basically baseball but to get someone out you have to make the ball hit one of the “stumps” which will dislodge the three “bails”. There are also eleven people on each team instead of nine. Table tennis is another popular sport in Asia. Table tennis (also known as ping pong) is a game where two or four players hit a small ball back and forth over a net on a table. To serve you have to bounce the ball once, then hit it to the opponent’s side. If the opponent misses the ball then the other player gets a point.

Asia has many different languages, but there are major languages like Altaic,Sino-Tibetan,Tai-Kadai,and more that have been spoken in Asia. Altaic is a hypothetical language of central Eurasia and Siberia whose existence is discredited among comparative linguists. This language has almost no supporters among specialists today. Sino-Tibetan is another major language in Asia. Sino-Tibetan is also known as Trans-Himalayan in a few other sources. This language is also spoken in the Himalayas and the Southeast Asian Massif. This language is second to Indo-European in the number of native speakers. Another major language in Asia is known as Tai-Kadai. Tai-Kadai is a tonal language found in Southern China,Northeast India, and Southeast Asia. Around 93 million people speak Tai-Kadai.
