I am currently teaching in the Bushwick burrow of Brooklyn, NY.  Last year I taught third grade and this year I am teaching first grade (for the first time!) In the classroom we have a set of Chromebooks for every child.  Our curriculum implements the use of ST Math, which is a website that my first graders LOVE. My goal this year is to implement the following standards, which stand out to me as excellent for 1st graders:
Empowered Learner
Computational Thinker
Creative Communicator

Deep, meaningful learning happens when there is a balance of knowledge between the teacher and student.  The content will not exist on it's own, without a relationship built between the teacher and the content and the teacher and the student.  I am excited to dive deeper into this relationship and look forward to learning how to implement technology into content as much as possible.
