1.Wireless access points (APs or WAPs) are networking devices that allow Wi-Fi devices to connect to a wired network

2. A router is a networking device that forwards data packets between computer networks. Routers perform the traffic directing functions on the Internet. Data sent through the internet, such as a web page or email, is in the form of data packets.

3. A Network interface card(also known as a NIC, network card, or network interface controller) is an electronicdevice that connects a computerto a computer network, usually a LAN. It is considered a piece of computer hardware.

4. Switches are most commonly used as the network connection point for hosts at the edge of a network. In the hierarchical internetworking model and similar network architectures, switches are also used deeper in the network to provide connections between the switches at the edge.

5. Transmission media are also called communication channels. Guided transmission media are also called bounded media or wired media. They comprise cables or wires through which data is transmitted.

6. Wired media and wireless media

7. Wired transmission media is also called as physical media or guided media. In wired transmission media, one network is connected to another network using a set of wires. Wired transmission media provide physically constrained signal propagation. In contrast, Wireless transmission media provide unconstrained signal propagation.

8. Unguided transmission media are also called wireless transmission media. They transport data in the form of electromagnetic waves that do not require any cables for transmission. These media are bounded by geographical boundaries. These type of communication is commonly referred to as wireless communications.

9. A network is a collection of computers, servers, mainframes, network devices, peripherals, or other devices connected to one another to allow the sharing of data. An example of a network is the Internet, which connects millions of people all over the world.

10. Media is the communication outlets or tools used to store and deliver information or data.

1.Wireless access point?(WAP)
An access point is a wireless network device that acts as a portal for devices to connect to a local area network. Access points are used for extending the wireless coverage of an existing network and for increasing the number of users that can connect to it.

2.Router?
A router is a device that communicates between the internet and the devices in your home that connect to the internet. As its name implies, it “routes” traffic between the devices and the internet.

3.Network card?
The definition of a network card is a part of a computer that connects to a local area network (LAN) or the Internet wirelessly or through an Ethernet cable. An example of a network card is the hardware that was once an external device that is now commonly part of the motherboard of a new computer

4.Swith/Hub
Switch: A switch is smarter than a hub. Similar to the hub, it is a connection point for all the devices in the network. ... If the destination address is not available, the switch sends the data packet to all the devices across the network. Router: It is the most intelligent of the three networking devices.

5.Transmission media?
is a communication channel that carries the information from the sender to the receiver. Data is transmitted through the electromagnetic signals. It is a physical path between transmitter and receiver in data communication. In a copper-based network, the bits in the form of electrical signals.

6.2 types of transmission media?
Guided transmission media are cables like twisted pair cables, coaxial cables, and fiber optic cables.
Unguided transmission media are wireless, such as infrared, radio waves, and microwaves.

7.Wired transmission media?
Wired transmission media is also called as physical media or guided media. In wired transmission media, one network is connected to another network using a set of wires. Wired transmission media provide physically constrained signal propagation.

8.Wireless transmission media?
is a form of unguided media.Example,When an antenna is attached to electrical circuit of a computer or wireless device, it converts the digital data into wireless signals and spread all over within its frequency range.

9.Network?
Is a group of devices that are connected in a such manner that they can share information and resources each other

10.Communication media?
Refer to the ways, means or channels of transmitting message from sender to the receiver. Indicate the use of verbal or non-verbal language in the process of communication. Without language, none can communicate. Whenever communication takes place, media are used there.
