What I hope to learn is how to centralize the idea of UdL and clarify some things as to how it's works practically.

I have a BSc in Biology. I worked with the City of Edmonton running educational programs for all ages (3 y.o.-adult), but worked most often in the 100 Voices preschool program.

I would like to know the responsibilities of the various other roles within classrooms such as EAs, OT/OTAs, SLP/SLPAs, etc. I want to be sure that I am not overstepping when utilizing these roles, but also make sure that all of their skills are being utilized.

I have a M.Sc. in Mathematics from my home country India. I came in Canada in 2023. I worked as a teacher in India. But I've noticed that teaching here is a lot different than back home.

I would like to learn more about the strategies of UDL and how to effectively implement them in a classroom to cater the needs of every learner.

I have been working in Disability Services for the past 8 years in various roles. My most recent position involved working as a Team Leader supervising group homes for adults with disabilities. While on my maternity leave I decided to come back to school to become a teacher. I graduated over 10 years ago with my Bachelor of Commerce.

I would like to see how my experience relates to inclusive learning in the classroom with children. I am looking forward to learning some practical examples of how this can be done effectively.

In 2022, I started my own swimming lesson company, where I teach kids of all ages and skill levels. For the past three years, I’ve also worked as a substitute educational assistant with Elk Island Public Schools. Both of these experiences have helped my love for teaching grow even stronger. It's been a long time since I graduated with my first degree. I did a diploma in Architectural Technology that transferred into a BA in Communications with a minor in Visual Studies. Since then I've been running my own businesses for about 10 years now. But before all of this, I once taught taekwondo to both children and adults, and that's when I knew I wanted to be a teacher - however, life took me down a different path. Even after all these years, I still think back to that time. So now I'm back to what I initially knew I wanted to do.

I have an honours psychology degree from MacEwan University, and I graduated almost 5 years ago. Additionally, I have lots of experience working as a Therapeutic Assistant for Behavioural Therapy (TABT) with the Edmonton Catholic School Division.

Whenever I have free time, you can catch me spending time with my partner and our cat, hanging out with friends, napping, or playing badminton!

I grew up in Cochrane Alberta and moved to Edmonton in 2015 to attend the University of Alberta. There I obtained my BFA in Technical Theatre Production. From there I freelanced as a sound designer and sound technician for local theatre and music. Because of the pandemic in 2020, there was no longer any available work so I returned to school at MC collage and became I licensed hairstylist/ barber. For the past several years I have been working full-time cutting hair and teaching people music production as a side hobby. Essentially, I want to be a music teacher and share with kids one of the things in my life that has brought me so much joy and purpose.

As our understanding of the complexities facing younger students grow, I believe this module is going to be paramount to our success as new teachers to help us better understand the challenges all students face.

I am curious about inclusive education because I did not know about it until post secondary. I want to be an accommodating to help students learn better.

I have a Bachelors of Arts majoring in French minoring in Education. I have always had a way of simply connecting with children and from a young age I saw teaching as my ideal career. I have played sports my entire life and through that is where I have become a Ringette Coach. For the last 5 years well I played ringette I also taught it and that is where my passion for helping children grow and improve has thrived. Something that I love mentioning when people are getting to know me is that I am a Wildfire Dispatcher for Alberta Wildfire during the summer months. I have learnt plenty about multi tasking, listening to multiple conversations at once and time management. Needless to say my job tends to be a consistent state of controlled chaos but it has become another one of my passions.

Due to coaching I have had limited time to spend in the classroom and I am intrigued to learn how to work with students in a different environment, different learning styles and learning difficulties, what teachers really do behind the scenes (lesson planning, class management etc.) and how to become what my favourite teachers were to me.

I have volunteered at St. Paul Elementary School (Grade 1) and Delton Elementary School (Grade 5/6) - Div. 1 and 2, affluent and inner city, EPSB and ECSD, etc. I have worked at Canterbury Foundation Seniors' Home for 8 years. Working with seniors and children is not all that different. I volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters as a Big Sister mentor for 4 years. I also worked as a Youth Director/Sunday School Coordinator at Dayspring Presbyterian for 3 years.

I am hoping to learn more about teaching in such complex classrooms that exist today. I want to learn what will benefit both my students and myself.

I completed my Bachelor of Arts, major in History and minor in Education. I have volunteered in a multitude of schools with a variety of students. I began volunteering in classrooms after grade 12, and even had the chance to teach a Social Studies lesson on the Famous Five to a Grade 5 class. That moment solidified my passion to become a teacher. I have worked in Catholic and French Immersion schools, which have given me various opportunities to learn and grow who I want to be as a teacher.

One thing I would like to take away from this course is how to create lessons that are inclusive to all learner’s strengths. I want to be able to be inclusive for all my future students and give them the best education experience I can.

My name is Hayley Ouellette. Before beginning this program, I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology with a minor in Psychology at MacEwan University, graduating with distinction.

I am currently a competitive hip-hop dancer with EyeCandy Company, and for many years I’ve competed in a variety of dance disciplines. I began student teaching dance at the age of twelve and became an independent instructor by sixteen. Over the years, I’ve taught at local schools and dance academies, and I now teach and manage a local dance studio, where I continue to share my passion and inspire others. For over a decade, I’ve had the privilege of teaching students of all ages and have witnessed how creativity and movement can foster confidence, connection, and self-expression.

Through this module, I hope to continue developing strategies to create inclusive learning spaces that celebrate diversity, individuality, and belonging.

I have my BSc in Biology minor in Education from here at CUE! My love for working with kids started in teaching dance, which I still do. I teach at a studio, and am also an instructor with a company called dancED, an artist-in-residency program hired by schools! I've worked with a lot of schools in Edmonton Public and Blackgold Division areas with students from Kindergarten to Grade 9! I've also been able to work with some Connections, Interactions, Specialized Kinder and Pre-K classes throughout the area and they have been the most rewarding! I've also volunteered with Cerebral Palsy Alberta last year in their Dance Without Limits program, and am hoping to continue again in the new year!
