Brianna Bodley is a 6 year old girl who had a rare neurological disease and recently had a hemispherectomy. Her surgery lasted 10 hours. Her surgery was performed at Loma Linda University Medical. She was diagnosed with epilepsy after getting nighttime seizures and being hospitalized for days at a time. She is now in the process of healing through physical, speech, and occupational therapy. Brianna Bodley was a 6 year old girl living in California when she was diagnosed in August of 2022 with Epilepsy. she was having nighttime seizures and she was hospitalized for 5 days. she eventually went back to the hospitalized and was diagnosed with Rasmussen's Encephalitis. it is a very rare chronic inflammatory neurological disease that usually only affects half of the brain. It is characterized by frequent and severe seizures, inflammation of the brain, mental deterioration and progressive loss of neurological functions. she is learning how to walk again and seeing things on her left side. she can only see what is infront of her and to the right. she had to do a lot of physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy.
