Ethics focus on the relationships of the participants. It is important to have respect with one another in order to have a good research outcome. This is an important characteristic that puts the ethical bar of action research higher than any other traditional research.  Moreover, positive social support requires team members to communicate and respect each other. The following characteristics are necessary for a good positive social support:  achievement,  affiliation and obligation to one another. Achievement refers to team work in order to solve important challenges. Affiliation refers to expressing positive feelings, help and obligation to one another. Finally, power refers to the importance of one another's ideas and feelings  as they work together.  A strong foundation of positive social support is necessary for the action research to be a success. (Schmuck, 2006, pp. 55-105).
