the relaxing environment that the class was. It felt like almost a class off, even though I was consistently doing work. The work just didn't feel like work which was a first for me and a big reason as to why I really enjoyed the class as a whole. Actually seeing your time and efforts showing up in a project is really rewarding.

During this project, I realized the importance of sticking with it, even if you think it is bad. Originally, I had a pretty bland design and was not feeling too great about the outcome of my project, but, I decided to erase that design and do dragons. This enhanced the look of my project and turned it into something I was proud of.

My advice for future ceramics students is to take your time and go with the flow. So many people try and make their projects perfect, and I think that is where things start to fall apart. If you made a mistake, that's fine, you're human. But, go with the mistake. If you make a mistake, work with it and make it a part of your project. Not everything is always going to go perfectly according to plan, so don't expect it to. As an example, I messed up my design on my large coil vessel, and thought it was unsalvageable. But, I pivoted, found a way to work with the mistake, and it turned into one of my best projects from this semester. Being flexible is honestly the best attribute you can have in this class.
