Setting in a book is extremely important because is helps set the mood for the reader. It creates imagery and a vision for the readers. In Dracula Stoker is always saying where they are and where they are going.

POINT OF VIEW

The point of view of Dracula shifts from one person to another. But they all have one thing in common, All of them are Dracula's enemies in the sense that they are all against him. This sort of creates a biased view point because you never really know what Dracula is really thinking or feeling. It shift from character to character and its letter they wrote and what happened at Dracula's Castle. This does make it hard to keep up with how is speaking when but it overall is a very interesting novel if you can understand the shift in voice.

The Catholic faith began thousands of years ago but were known as Roman Catholics. . If you were a Christian you belonged to the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church was the body of Christian believers all over the world, united by common traditions, Christian beleifs, Christian beleifs, church structure and worship. To be a Roman Catholic meant to be a certain kind of Christian: one with unique beliefs, practices and traditions that are distinct from those of other Christians. In its long history, the church has evolved into a distinctive branch of Christianity with beliefs, practices and organization that differ from both Protestantism and Orthodoxy. Roman Catholicism is by far the largest Christian group.

Religion is a very big part played in Dracula. In the beginning of the story when Harker arrived at Dracula's castle he was given a crucifix. The crucifix was used to symbolize God and Dracula was a symbol of the devil. Harker wearing the crucifix was to keep Dracula from being able to hurt him.

Personally I see Dracula as a metaphor for the devil. Hence the crucifix being given. Also all the sexual behavior. IN the Bible temptation is the devils best quality and he likes to take the evil out in people. Much like dracula does all throughout the book.
