Something interesting about me is that I appear to be allergic to moon dust and get a super stuffy nose. Before I went to the moon, I taught astronauts how to collect geological samples from the moon. I am the only civilian to go to the moon. This is because all other astronauts were trained military pilots. NASA scientists thought that because the pilots have already been under extreme pressure while flying, they would have an easier time getting into space from all the pressure. I was assigned on to the Apollo 15 backup crew and that meant that I would fly on the Apollo 18 but Apollo 18 and 19 were both canceled in September 1970. This was bad news for the Lunar Geologists supporting the Apollo series. The Geologists then pressured NASA into putting me, a professional geologists, onto a remaining flight.
