Ancient military arsenal, from 1892 to 1954, the year of its closure, was the main entry point for immigrants who disembarked in the United States. Currently, the building houses the Ellis Island Immigration Museum (located in the territory belonging to NYC) that can be visited using the same ticket and ferry that also allows access to the nearby Statue of Liberty.
