The sacrifice seemed unnecessary and the slaves were unwilling. It was extremely gory. It was inhumane for the mass sacrifices.

A) Reactions: This seems different from what we read about yesterday. After watching the video, we got a better visualization of the life that the people lived there at the time. We would want to learn a lot more about the time period and how they lived. It reminds Raj of Egyptian civilization because of the laborers or slaves.
B) We though that it was very ... different to watch. It seems like a violent religion. If is was something we experienced in real life it would be

Reactions: It was disturbing and their traditions were very confusing. Life was tough and many people were forced to do hard labor. There were many slaved doing hard labor and there was a huge amount of people.
_______________________________
It was very different for a priest to sacrifice someone. It was super violent and super extra with cutting off the persons head. It must be super scary to be a slave because you have to fear for your life. It's crazy how everyone, even small children, were screaming and cheering for the sacrifice.

Reactions: Life is hectic and tough. Many slaves were owned. This society has different aspects from what we learned about yesterday. Everything seemed unreal because you would never think about a society involving so many slaves and chaos.
__________________________________
It was unrealistic for a priest to sacrifice someone to become "closer" to the gods. It's also very barbaric because everyone else is cheering the deaths of the slaves.

This place seems very disorganized, hectic, and barbaric. Is this the same society that was described last class? Even little children ran around in the complete mess that this society was. What kind of conditions were these people living in? It seems like most of them are in huge poverty or have some kind of problem with their life.
-------------------------------------------
They have human sacrifices? While religion is probably important to these people, human sacrifices are just morally incorrect. Meanwhile, the people in the crowd were cheering, happy that this slave was being sacrificed to the gods. This ritual is just too extreme and this society just seems to have no type of morals at all.

This is unlike the society that was talked about yesterday.
_______________________________
The priest and everyone was not just fine, but was celebrating the fact that someone was being sacrificed. I thought that it was a bit off to pull someone's heart out. I also thought that it was weird to cut someone's head off and let it roll down stairs.

The slaves look like they are treated brutally, and it looks like that the civilization depends on slaves. Life seems very miserable, dirty, and lacking.
part B: The people seem to believe a lot about gods. They believe that they are the closest beings to them, and they give human sacrifices for their gods. The crowd is also cheering for it and are excited.

Part A: Many people were enslaved and forced to work hard labor. The civilization seemed very unusual as people wore blue paint and some where covered with white dust. I assume that the society heavily favored the rich and royalty and all the other people were enslaved and left in very poor conditions.
Part B: It was very scary that the priest was sacrificing other people to get closer to god. The people in the crowd were also happy that they were sacrificing other people. This is very disturbing. It was even more scary and disturbing that they removed the slaves heart and cut off his head. Lastly, they rolled his head and body down the stairs. This is unheard of, in modern society and would never be accepted now.
