  The school was founded in 1991. There are 809 pupils at our school. 18 primary, 1 pre-primary class and 15 secondary forms. The school community is very proud of the fact that the school was named after the first Klaipėda seaport captain Liudvikas Stulpinas. Maritime traditions are cherished in Liudvikas Stulpinas Progymnasium.
    It is modern and open to changes, school providing high primary and secondary education. The school's philosophy - let's learn, create, be friends and set sails to the ocean of life!

  Priorities of the school:
Education of the emotional skills;
Purposeful education;
Comunity coopeartion.

  Children from the 1st grade are taught not only general subjects but purposefully develop their artistic skills through art, music and dance areas. Great attention is paid to the economic and information literacy.
   There is a great museum dedicated to the first Klaipėda seaport captain Liudvikas Stulpinas at our school.
    After-school activities which students can choose: sports (basketball, volleyball, dodgeball), drama, choir and others.
    Our school takes part in different projects: Erasmus, Social and emotional skills programme "Lion Quest" and others.

I teach in a European school in Brussels. The school is near the Atomium.
The European School is not a Dutch school, but has a Dutch speaking section. That seems more or less the same, but this is not it. The number of Flemish pupils is considerably higher than the number of Dutch pupils. 
There are many other sections: Italian, Romanian, German, English, Bulgarian, Estonian...
At the school itself, the pupils form one melting pot of all sorts of backgrounds. This sometimes leads to difficult situations with homework, for example: in Finland, by definition, no homework is given, in Flanders parents want their children to study seriously, while the Dutch are quite laid back with homework: not in large numbers, but on a regular basis.
