A structure is needed to support industry-academia engagement - clear contact points at a national or regional level, clear ask that industry can respond to, centralised information/resource hub. A lack of structure is limiting scaling opportunities for STEM programmes and the visibility of STEM opportunities.

More diverse pathways for STEM learning - e.g. apprenticeships, preapprenticeships, short courses, more STEM-based Leaving Cert courses, microcredentials. As well as different ways of learning - work experience, project based work, fous on grand challenges, STEAM

Early years and primary school engagement with STEM is critical to generate interest in students to take science subjects in secondary. Need blend of hands on learning and linking STEM disciplines, skills and knowledge to career roles. This requires support for primary, secondary science and career guidance teachers to inform themselves on current and emerging industries and roles.

Central repository for industry and teacher engagement on STEM initiatives nationally and to support scaling of initiatives. Showcase STEM roles as well as non-STEM careers in which STEM skills are highly valuable.

1. Centralised engagement point for industry to engage with on STEAM education with a clear set of asks where industry reps. Like the idea of an interactive map. Recognition of time investment for industry and facilitate blended approach with longer (primary) and shorter term asks . 2 lots happening among females in STEM - leveraging these initiatives and showcasing these effectively through a new structure for industry to interface with would be valuable.
