I believe that every student has potential, regardless of their background, and as a teacher, I want to make sure all students feel valued and supported. To address this bias, I’ll focus on recognizing each student’s individual strengths and providing equal opportunities for everyone. This means being mindful of my own assumptions and creating a classroom environment where all students can succeed, no matter what resources they have at home.

In terms of classroom management, I’ll focus on fairness and adaptability. I’ll strive to understand each student’s background and adjust my approach to meet their needs. For instance, if a student is struggling due to language barriers or family challenges, I’ll find ways to support them, like providing extra resources or connecting with their family to understand how I can help.

Self-assessment will also be a big part of my process. I’ll regularly reflect on my teaching to identify any biases or gaps and look for ways to improve. This will ensure that my classroom is a space where all students can thrive, no matter their culture or background.
