  • Een mat kan een duidelijke speelzone creëren, waardoor speelgoed en activiteiten beter georganiseerd blijven.

  • Het zorgt voor een huiselijkere sfeer.

  • Sensorische ontwikkeling: Verschillende texturen (zoals een zachte mat) stimuleren de tastzin van kinderen.

  • Kinderen spelen vaak op de grond. Wanneer je koude/kille vloer hebt kan een mat zorgen voor een zachte en warme ondergrond, wat prettiger is dan een harde vloer.

  • Veiligheid: een mat dempt valpartijen en vermindert het risico op blessures en het kan uitgelijden op gladde vloeren verkomen.

  • Akoestiek: tapijten en zachte materialen absorberen geluid, waardoor de ruimte minder galmt en rustiger aanvoelt.

    • Zorg voor een antisliplaag zodat de mat niet kan verschuiven om valpartijen te voorkomen.

    • Vermijd matten die opkrullen of waar kinderen over kunnen struikelen.

    • Controleer of het materiaal voldoet aan brandveiligheidsnormen.

    • Kies een mat die makkelijk schoon te maken is (machinewasbaar of afneembaar).

    • Kies neutrale kleuren. Dit zorgt ervoor de het speelgoed opvalt en niet de mat.

    • Vermijd materialen die snel verkleuren of slijten.

    • Stem de grootte af op de ruimte (of speelzone) en het aantal kinderen.
