Hey!
So to start off, I began thinking of ideas for the websites name, so that it will be easier and faster for us to begin other sections. Here's what I've come up with:

crEaMY (The E stands for e-commerce, and MY is Malaysia)

Creams & Craves (Short for ice cream, and the craves part speaks to people with cravings for sweet stuff)

Scooptacular (A mix of an ice cream scoop and spectacular, which is a punny and catchy way of saying our ice cream is that amazing)

Sweet Serve (Ice cream is sweet, and people usually "serve" ice cream. The alliteration makes it catchy)

Lapis (Lapis means ‘layer’ in Bahasa Malaysia so I thought it could mean like our ice cream has different layers in flavor.)

32 (Farenheit) Below (The freezing point)

Apam (It’s a famous Malaysia dessert that I think we could incorporate in our trademark.)

OLAF (Warm Snowman)

GENERAL CONCEPT & THEME

Our website will be based on an e-commerce ice cream parlor, specializing in delicious low calorie, low fat and low sugar tubs of localized flavors.

We are a homegrown, vegan-friendly and gluten as well as lactose-free ice cream brand just for you!

The idea was to make ice cream accessible to everyone. With these criteria, now, everyone can indulge guilt-free!

Our theme of the website will be filled with bright, pastel colors. The idea is to make our website scream 'fun and bubbly'.

Tagline (Ideas)

Hello!
I also thought about possible taglines that could accompany our website's name and theme:

For cheat days, without the guilt (Many people have moments where they give in to indulgent treats, but they end up regretting it after a while. Since our ice cream is healthier than most, one can still have ice cream and not be too worried about the after effects. This tagline can draw people like this in)

Every layer is another flavor (This tagline is related to the Lapis website name idea. The layers of Lapis are a metaphor for the layers of taste in our ice cream. This conveys the many types of flavours we can offer our consumers)

Now everyone can indulge guilt-free! (This tagline is inclusive of a diverse set of people eg people with allergies, or different tastes. This tagline not only assures our customers that they don't have to worry about what they're eating, but that they can definitely find something they like)

Your sweet needs answered (Sweet needs refers to the cravings people have, in terms of deserts, and it basically says that our customers can come to us to meet those internal demands. It's is also catchy and straight to the point, which won't confuse our audience)

Scream for ice cream (This is a fun way of saying our customers should be excited for our ice cream. The similarity of "scream" and "ice cream" make it stick in the minds our customers)

DESIGNING MOCK-UPS, LOGOS AND LAYOUT DRAFT

As discussed this afternoon, we will ALL HAVE TO DESIGN OUR OWN LOGOS, MOCK-UPS AND LAYOUT DRAFTS.

We will then vote for the one design we think is the best. The majority vote will be used in the end.

This is so that everyone has a chance to show their creativity and ideas. It will also not be too pressuring for a person to eg. design all four logos.

Hey guys! I found a few websites that I think will be great as a reference for us!!

Check out these amazing sites:

1`. https://www.amplehills.com/
I like the use of colors and the squiggly lines to section out the categories/ parts of the site. I also like the use of the drawn icons at the end. I think this site makes their brand look 'fun' which is exactly the kind of mood we are going for. This is a great reference for us.

2. https://eatcalli.com/my/
Since we're doing an e-commerce, we can refer this site as an example. Their brand is also cater towards e-commerce. I like their second section (the one with their ice cream flavors and 'add to the cart') and also the reviews part. We can incorporate these two elements in our site.

3. https://milkbarstore.com/
I LOVE the use of fonts in this site. It's easy to read and also fits our aesthetics. I also like the header/ tab.

4. https://www.insidescoop.com.my/ // https://www.glacedessert.com/
Of all the sites I've found, I feel like these sites' layout fits with our theme the most. It's simple, clean-cut and can be portrayed in tons of colors. This is another site we can use for our reference. I also like the tab/ header part.

5. https://shop.jenis.com/
The use of grids in their design makes their website clean and easy to navigate. We can take some inspiration from here too!

6. https://mcconnells.com/
The 'UP CLOSE & PERSONAL' section is super creative!! We can do something like this for our brand since it fits our vision (low calorie, low sugar, gluten-free, etc.)

7. http://softree.co/index.php/debut/
Check this website out! Super creative, pretty and innovative! Their first section is super cute and if you scroll down, their drinks switch places. We can do something like this for our 'Shop Here' page, showing different tubs of ice cream, their description and their price.

I feel like we can incorporate some of these images. I think they suit our concept and theme well! :)

Our concept is an e-commerce brand so we can include pictures of ice cream tubs/ packaging .

Since we're also offering catering services, I think we can include pictures of our 'ice cream booths' during events like weddings, baby showers, birthday parties as well as pictures of people eating ice cream.

Padlet only allows us to upload one image at a time, I've compiled what I've found into an image grid.

Hi everyone!

I have found a few colour palettes that I personally think can bring out the meaning of our healthy ice cream concept and create a good first impression for people who visit our website.

Color Palette No. 1

I feel that, each colour on this palette has its own distinct meaning. The reddish/pinkish shades brings out feminine and youthful feel. The green shade brings out healthy and organic meaning. Audience can easily notice and remember that our ice creams are healthy and are different from other ice creams. The blue shade brings out the cooling and chilling feels. Ice cream is cold so blue colour is considered the most suitable colour to carry it’s meaning. When these shades come together, it brings out a warm feeling which I think it’ll create a good image for our brand.

Colour Palette No. 2

This palette is also a combination of warm and cold colours. I believe with these colours we can create two sections on our website which are warm and cool theme. The pastel red to pastel orange shades will represent the warm section while the pastel green to pastel purple will be the cool section.The sections can represent the our ice creams flavours as well as the different feelings people want to get after eating the ice creams. This palette is almost similar to colour palette no.1 but the colours are more light and soft. I think the colours look great when are put together.

Colour Palette No. 3

This palette is also one of my favourite. It brings out an entire different feel compare to No. 1 and No. 2. It gives me a youthful, sweet, cheerful and feminine feel when I first saw the palette. Primary colour of this palette feels like pastel purple. If we’re going to use purple as our brand colour, this palette will be very suitable.

Honestly, this is the colour palette I like the most. It has a very cheerful, youthful, sunshine feel with sweet and girly feel together. The colours on this palette are not too soft which can make our ice cream brand look confident.

Hey guys! So, since there are already a lot of suggestion for the different ice cream types we could use, I decided to start looking at different package designs. I'll have separated posts explaining why I like the specific designs.
The first design I found was this cute design from a Japanese brand. I love the mix of white, and just enough colour to make stand out, but not overwhelming. The fruit that is decorated around is one of the main things I like, and it could work for our brand.
Also, I think it would be best to use recyclable carton to fit with out image.

This packaging in particualr drew me in (no pun intended). The artful positioning of the different elements such as the fruit drawings, colours, and angles are captivating. Also, our brand makes ice creams from scratch and I think it would be relatable to use images that look "handrawn" and abstract, making it more attractive. Also, the idea of drawing an image on the packaging, depending on the flavour of the ice cream is a smart idea. What do ya'll think?

Hey guys!
So here is the rough visual of my idea about our logo. I tried to shape the ice cream in a way that looks like a strawberry upside down, then added strawberry seeds for the same reason. Since we create ice cream that is natural and free from a lot of stuff I thought that the idea of using a fruit, but in an ice cream shape, would be suitable. I then added leaves since our brand to add onto the idea of it being natural. I then put the brands name at the top, in an arc, to create dimension, and make it look more interesting (Ignore the fonts btw, they're just this). I did the same thing for the tagline. I only used four colours, and three of them were also used in the text to make the design more cohesive. Looking forward to your thoughts! Feel free to critic on anything, whether bad or good :D

"Broccoli-looking Ice Cream"
Since our ice creams are on the healthy side, I thought of using broccoli to give out a healthy impression. It is actually an ice cream but it looks like a broccoli. as for the heart shapes above, each heart can represent each of our brand uniqueness or maybe our brand signature flavour.

I thought of doing something cool and clean. I imagine the background of the logo being black and the wordings are white, it'll give out a pretty classy feel. The mini ice cream above will help to make the whole logo more adorable and friendly.

Hello guys! Attached below is a copy of my logo design. The colors used are actually from 4th color scheme suggested by Xin Ying here with the green from the first palette. I also drew the ice cream icon and added leaves so that it has a little 'freshness' vibe to it.

The first logo is just something really basic, simple but brings out our brand well.

For the second logo, I thought of doing something creative with the fonts.

Hello guys! This is what I had in mind for our web layout draft. I'll explain my ideas down below.

I was thinking we can do like a 'announcement/news' section for our brand in the pink section. It will be in like a slide format. By announcement/ news, I meant like if we have new flavors launching, we can post it in that section.

The second section will be called 'Up Close & Personal'. I was thinking we can do something like the McConnell's website where we insert an image of a scoop of ice cream on spoon and list out the special features of our ice cream (low sugar, low calorie, gluten free, dairy free, etc.) with some hand drawn icons on the side. This is to make our brand stand out more.

The about us section will just be a brief description of who we are and what's our store's vision. We can put a group picture beside it.

The next section will be the 'Shop Here' or in other words 'Menu'. We will be listing what we sell with the description of our flavors and the prices here. I was thinking we can do it like what Softree's website did where whenever we scroll down, a new item from the menu pops up/ the item changes. I think this is such an innovative concept we can try.

After that, we have the catering section where we will include information about the catering services provided. Beside the info column, we can include a picture of past events we helped cater.

The last section will be the 'Contact Us' section. We can include our social media links and other contact information.

If our users/ customers want to return to our homepage, I was thinking that they could just click the logo and it would take them back there.

So, what do you guys think? Would love to hear your thoughts! :)

Hello everyone, so here's my home page layout draft.

I think it would look more attractive and adorable to have icons to describe each subpages of our website on our header.
{Inspired by Ample Hills Creamery website]

I think it is important to let our web visitors know that our brand is online, therefore I chose to describe a little about our delivery service first on home page.
[Inspired by Jeni's website]

Next, I think people should know and understand about our ice cream first before shopping on our products.

After that, we can have an announcement section then menu section then contact me section.

In my opinion, I think that it would be better to talk about "our story" on its own subpage clearly rather than talking a bit on home page then continue on subpage. If customers are interested about our brand, they will automatically press the "Our story" on the header.

HEY GUYS! Sorry for the late submission. Something, called sleep, got in the way.🙃

So like I previously told Jane, my idea was almost identical hers, but there's only a few differences. fort he promotions I named it fresh scoops so that it fits with the theme of ice cream, and is also a play on words.

Next, for the makeup of our ice cream, I thought it would be creative to have scoop of ice cream in the middle (a bit melted), and the different components of the ice cream will be in ice cream scoopers on the side.

Then, for the about us section, I used the title "We Are..." so that its slightly different than what most sites have and is fun.

For the menu/order now section, I put the title spoilt for choice, which is another milk/ice cream-type-of pun. And like Jane previously mentioned, the Softree design of showing their menu will be incorporated.

For catering, I also share the same sentiments as ya'll, about having a gallery of past events and info on how the service works.

Then, for the contact section I put the title "Hit Us Up!" which is very youthful and makes us seem more welcoming, and relatable to our customers.

And for the part where users want to return to specific sections, I think we can have a cute icon/logo in the middle of each section so that people don't have to keep scrolling, also our menu bar could be responsive, and be able to still show at the top, regardless of where users go.

I did it in gif format because I wanted to try Softree's concept where whenever you scroll down, a new menu/item pops up.

Since this is a mock-up, I can't really make the actual effect. Hence, I turn it into a gif instead. Hopefully, you will be able to get my ideas across. :)

(I noticed that there's somewhat a glitchy texture. I'm thinking it's because I've turned it into a gif.

As suggested that the first section after the tab menu is the announcement section, I did something like this so that everyone will get the gist of it.

Here's the third, possible desktop view. Just to clarify, for the "Spoilt For Choice" section, I also decided to use the Softree menu navigation idea.
Also, I decided to make the menu bar responsive so that it's easier for users to go back to the specific section they want. Okie, done clarifying 😂
