My name is Harriet Tubman I was born around the 1820"s in Maryland, When I was around 6 years old I was sold away from my parents to become a slave. I made my first escape from slavery with my 2 older brothers, then we went back feeling guilty realizing that we could be hung if we were caught. My second escape was successful in the year of 1829, then I went back to theses slave states to help and save family and family friends.I couldn't sit back and watch them struggle as slaves I had to do something about this problem.

Most of the reasons that the confederates won the fights were, because I would go back to the south and put on an act that I was an enslaved slave and figure out where the union was moving to next. Then I could go back to the soldiers and tell them where our journey would be to next. We cut the union soldiers off in unexpected locations and fought until a fight was finished.
