  • A recent German study has shown that when women work from home, they tend to do three hours more childcare compared to women who do not work from home,  while men who are home-workers end up doing more overtime hours.
  • Society still believes that women are responsible for housework and caregiving. 
  • The triple load women are carrying may exacerbate the high levels of stress that mothers are already at risk of  along with other mental health issues.
  • Many women, especially mothers or those with care responsibilities, do not feel like they can extend their working days.

  • More fundamentally, we need to challenge organizational cultures that privilege work above everything else, with long hours considered to be synonymous with productivity and commitment.

They comment that gender inequality is true, since the woman has more responsibilities with the children and work at home leaving little time for herself while the man only works.

  • Set rules in the house about how to treat the people who work there. Let it be clear that all family members can help if they volunteer and not just one person.

    • Divide household chores equally among all members of the family. It is important to do this action because women with such an overload of household chores can increase the chances of women developing health problems, which is why dividing the burden is the best solution for common welfare. 

    • Respect decisions according to gender stereotypes in your home. It is important to treat bodies equally no matter what they look like, because there is a narrow and unrealistic view of what is supposed to be good and look good.
     
    • Contribute in an equal manner for household resources, however, if not know that there is an ethic of equality. It is important that everyone can support in any way in the home in different activities or contribute financially with something minimal, for a more stable economic support.
