Post #1 (November 30,2019) Prime Mover: How Amazon Wove Itself Into the Life of an American City

Another big Prime Air 767 takes off from Baltimore-Washington International Airport where Amazon’s shipping last year eclipsed that of FedEx and U.P.S. put together and wheels above the old industrial city. Below, the online giant seems to touch every niche of the economy, its ubiquity and range breathtaking. Amazon is taking over and small businesses are going out of business. Ordering things off Amazon are at the click of a button for those very involved with technology. Therefore, this affects globalization because Amazon is a world-wide supplier that affects small businesses. In order for those businesses to last, society needs to buy from them to keep them in business.

Post #2 (November 30,2019) The new family separation: Migrant parents stranded on border send kids across alone

Children who arrive at the border unaccompanied by an adult are exempt from Remain in Mexico. By law, unaccompanied minors must be allowed into the U.S., transferred to U.S. Health and Human Services shelters within 72 hours and released to relatives or other sponsors. Many Migrant parents are wanting their children to cross the U.S. boarder themselves to seek asylum. They want their children to have a better life and leave their countries. This affects globalization because families are being separated and a country population is growing. These children seeking asylum are very young as little as 3 or 5 years old. They barely understand the concept of what their parents want them to do, but their parents want them to have a better future.

Post #3 (December 2,2019) North Korea launches two projectiles in Thanksgiving message to Trump

North Korea fired two projectiles Thursday, using the start of the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States to telegraph its frustation over Washington’s refusal to grant sanctions relief. The short-range projectiles were launched from Ryonpo on the North’s east coast around 5 p.m. local time, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said. They added that the projectiles traveled about 235 miles and reached an altitude of 60 miles. This is making North Korea more aggressive towards the United States. It affects globalization because of our President there is more conflict with other countries. It affects the American people and how we interact with them.

Post #4 (December 2,2019) Trump to 'restore' tariffs on steel from Brazil and Argentina

US President Donald Trump has said he will place tariffs on steel and aluminium imports from Brazil and Argentina. He justified the move saying those countries' weak currencies had made it harder for US food exports to compete. The U.S. is Brazil's biggest costumer for steel and Brazil is world's 10th biggest exporter for steel. Applying Tariffs to these important imports, make it difficult for the U.S. to rely on Brazil and Argentina for these import goods. This affects globalization because it is affecting taxes and taxing material that is important to our country and is helping us bring in imported goods that are useful to us.
