The feedback is great as well and helped me hone health promotion skills. I also appreciated the wide-range of topics we were able to cover and apply the IM principles to diverse areas.

The class was so helpful to understanding the overarching IM framework as well as seeing the exact details and steps! It is a great framework for intervention work, and I think understanding these fundamentals and processes can allow us all to be experts in a wide-range of intervention topics and public health issues, when different areas of research within Public Health use IM.

Not sure how this can be addressed without extending the course length to two-weeks, but there was a lot of material condensed into this week - perhaps instead of trying to fit all the material into a live lecture from 9-4pm, maybe some of the lectures could be assigned as "homework" where we watch lecture videos. It would be the same powerpoint material except half would be delivered live and the other half would be assigned as homework

Thank you!

I think the most helpful thing to improve the class would be to have more interactive presentation style when lecturing, for example breaking up some of the intervention examples with videos of the interventions. I know iCHAMPSS has videos on their websites, but maybe taking us to intervention website works, or if professors or leaders of these interventions have any videos or more engaging ways of introducing and examining these interventions.

Talking for a while must be also exhausting for you, and it is always a good way to keep attention there and strong and present.

I did say how much I love the number of examples, and broadness of topics. But sometimes I think it can get a bit overwhelming/ hard to absorb when it is all delivered in lecture style.

Excited about PPT updates too! But your slides are great!

It would be great if resources for the templates/class assignments were really clearly highlighted in Canvas. Maybe having each template in a module section with it's name on it, outside of the overall large IM template. Or before we begin working on it, share your screen to show us where exactly it is. It's a 58 page doc. so it can just be a bit overwhelming to find it. Not impossible! We are students, after all, and capable of finding it, but just to make it a bit easier when we have quick turnarounds.

Teaching Team Philosophy/Style:

I really appreciated Dr. Springer's approach to providing constructive feedback. He reinforced our efforts/work, while still providing additional perspectives to consider for areas of improvement. I also believe that his delivery was great as well, which was very encouraging.

The teaching team (TA's) was also great! I appreciate how Sylvia and Tiffany contributed to the discussions during the large group sessions and consistently provided feedback. It was clear that they both were very passionate about the class and wanted to help us as much as possible.

Breakout Group Sessions:

I believe that the breakout group sessions were really beneficial and an effective use of class time. We were able to interact with one another and contribute different ideas, which was very helpful. Due to the pandemic started, there has not been as much student to student interaction during class time in most courses, so this was a great experience to have.

Class schedule:
The teaching team may not have much control over this, but it might be beneficial to make this course a two-week course rather than one week, so that there is more time to dig in deeper to some of the steps.

Administrative:
I think it would be helpful to create a module that is solely for templates and additional examples for easy access.

Additional Resources:
It might also be beneficial to create another module to provide more resources for theories and constructs, as well as a step by step guide or interactive guide for the Change matrices (in terms of how to approach them/thought process behind developing ideas etc.).

I really liked the interactive portions (breakout sessions and use of padlet). It really encouraged me to share my ideas, provide feedback to others, and receive feedback on areas of improvement. For the lectures, the examples included for each step were really helpful in learning how to apply the information learned.

I was surprised at how connected this class has been to previous classes I've taken. It provided the opportunity to really expound on knowledge in areas of theory, methods, and evaluation approaches. I appreciated everyone's contributions in making this 5-day intense course a smoother learning experience.

More time for this course would be great; maybe 10-14 days over the summer to allow for better absorption of the material. I particularly felt like I got behind or needed to recharge around steps 3 and 4; I would suggest breaking them up and having more dialogue and group activities in these areas as well.
