         <description><![CDATA[<p>What is management? What determines who qualifies to become a manager.  Management is the process of planning, organizing , leading, and controlling. Most of the time this is done by upper management. Whether its the CEO or the COO its their mission to set long term and short term goals for the company. In most cases some businesses develop a vertical management strategy, especially in cases if more than one manager is needed. This allows for upper , middle, and first line managers to lead in a specific areas or skills.  This strategy effectively allows for better communication between managers and employees and less confusion on who should be doing what job or assignment.. Managers must have certain skills to be able to plan, organize and control. When managers hire they are most likely looking for employees with the same values and goals as the company. This takes technical, conceptual and human skills. Managers must have critical thinking and decision making skills when its comes to hiring, training, and leading employees.  Its is proven that when managers have effective leadership skills with team spirit, and not harsh and dictatorial practices, productivity within the company may increase as well as profit., resulting in happy consumers, and a successful business.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>When we talk about ethics, i don't just mean ethical behavior. Ethics are a set of standards that govern the conduct of a person. However when we say Business ethics what exactly are we saying? Every business has a code of ethics, that serves to guide the behavior of members and employees of the profession or organization. Business ethics is relevant to all aspects of business conduct not just from the members but the organization as a whole. A company must ensure its making the right choices to continue their existence, or the  cost from failure  can be substantial. However a business true ethics show when its company uses CSR (corporate social responsibility) or have cultural atmosphere. Its a sure sign that a company have a business culture when you walk in and see visible signs of it.  Things such as Snack areas, plaques and awards, or simply how the employees dress. These are sure examples of how to to tell if the company has a business culture that is to your liking or not.  Employees should have the same basic cultural assumptions  and values as the company for which they are trying to work for. Furthermore since there is no guarantee that having CSR will increase profits within a company  its used more to enhance the company's reputation. CSR or corporate citizenship is the concept in which social and environmental concerns are implemented into the company's operations. Many consumers expect companies to perform responsibly and address social and environmental issues rather than make a profit. Four ways a business or organization can help increase CSR is by Volunteerism or creating volunteer programs, donating to charities, saving the environment and ethical labor practices.</p>]]></description>

Globalization is the process by which the exchange of goods, services, capital, technology, and knowledge across international boarders is possible. This means that businesses can reach consumers around the world more rapidly and efficiently. Thanks to globalization there has been more rises of internet businesses and trades. Trades such as (WTO) World trade organization and The world bank has made it possible to increase global cooperation within nations. When company's decide to venture out globally they are allowing wider access to resources , but also to new competitors, decreasing the demand for local products. When this happen is creates a competitive disadvantage against internal and external barriers. Organizations compete to serve international customers, through supply chains, improved shipping, and enhanced communications. However todays competitiveness is based more  on the capabilities' of keeping up with organizational changes and technology. With todays globalization its crucial for companies to  find ways to sustain a competitive advantage by adapting and creating innovative strategies against other businesses. </p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Planning may seem like a simple task, but for managers and businesses, planning if not done right can have backlashing effects. Planning is a process of thinking about and organizing the activities needed to achieve a desired goal. Though plans may end up obsolete before they are implemented or taken into action, it is still critical to have a strategic planning method. This is why its important for almost every business to have a business plan. The business plan addresses your company's goals, as well as vision and mission statement. The business plan provides the foundation for current and on going planning activities. Strategic planning methods can help improve resource utilization, set performance standards, and provide a guided for plan for action.  However Managers shouldn't get so wrapped up in planning they they forget to actually take action on these plans. The backlashes from not planning correctly is, it could possibly lead too not taking action, as well as complacency. This is why planning is a process, that has to broken down into steps. Its said that the first crucial step of planning is Defining the objective or Goals. After that you can forecast future internal and external conditions, then evaluate and determines what resources are needed. Finally once you have those you can create roadmaps and track progress of goals and change whatever needs to be changed. Essentially plans can be long term or short term, depending on the desired goal. When making a strategic plan its always best for companies to check both internal and external factors such as Political, Economical, Social, technological, environmental, and legal environments (PESTEL). PESTEL analysis gives an over view of possible threats in the micro-environment that companies have to take into consideration. These are crucial especially when planning, to make sure businesses have an advantage in the global market. Businesses even when planning need to have great decision making skills that will not only implement the plan, but also keep the company thriving at the worst of times. Managers are faced with tough decisions everyday, but knowing how to get through them is the keys. Some managers can use combinatorial or positional strategies (conscious or unconscious decisions) to help make a specific choice. That choice should conclude data, logic and facts to be a rational decision. One way companies check their decision is by creating a decision tree. A decision tree is a flowchart that displays multiple pathways for potential outcomes and decisions. From there companies use the decision tree to calculate  which pathway is the right decision. Business can brainstorm on the data and facts to implement on what plan to use and what decisions will be made now and in the future.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>A good organization structure is essential for the expansion of business activities. Before a plan can be implemented, managers must organize the assets of the business to execute the plan effectively and efficiently. An effective organization structure have four key elements (Common purpose, coordinated effort, division of labor, hierarchy of authority) that are essential for any structure. Companies must have a clear purpose and goal that's easy to understand. From there they can coordinate and divide jobs into categories or departments. When there are multiply departments sometime there is a need for multiple authority for the different departments. This is the last elements , hierarchy authority. Depending on the structure you can then determine if a centralized or formalized organization is needed. Organizations can choose from structures such as Functional, Matrix, Product, or Geography. Depending on the complexity of the company and how many departments it plans to have most businesses will use one of the four broad structures for their companies. However if the right structure is not choosing it could cause for poor communication between managerial and employees. </p>]]></description>
