Thy are used to protect a horses leg during excessive and protects the lower leg from injury that may occur if one leg or hoof strikes the other leg

They can be used for schooling especially lunging. They can also be used when horses are fresh and are being turned out to prevent injury when in the field.
The fit of the boot should be one finger fit under the knee and finishes just below the fetlock joint.
